Two years ago today, I predicted a 51-seat gain in the House of Representatives for the Republican Party. At the time, experts gave Democrats better than even odds of maintaining the House. Given that they had a 76-seat advantage Republicans would need to flip 39 seats to take the House that seemed reasonable. To be sure, most voters wanted the newly enacted Obamacare repealed, but experts said voters would get over that by November, when the economy picked up.

Well, you’re free to be wrong too.
We absolutely need to get rid of Obama.
Which is one reason we should choose as our candidate somebody who sides with the 60-75% of the public who don’t believe that government should force everybody to buy a product.
It would also make it a lot easier for people like me to support our candidate if it was somebody who DIDN’T coerce people into performing abortions against their will.
As long as we’re still in the primary we need to fight for the best candidate we can have, and I don’t believe that’s Romney. Not for principles and not for electability either.
Yep, Gas could be $7.999 a gallon and Inflation and Unemployment could both be 30%+ and Obama would still likely win because those people would still eagerly vote for him.
I also believe that, and that’s why if it is between Romney and Obama I will plug my nose and pull the lever for Romney.
But Romney isn’t running against Obama right now. He’s running against Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. I just switched my voter registration from independent to republican so I can vote for Gingrich.
Accidental sharia is better than deliberate sharia, but no sharia at all beats them both by light-years.
I think Bishop Willard the Fetus Slayer will win. But, just as he governed to the left of Bill Clinton as governor, I look for him to govern to the left of Bill CLinton as POTUS. A supine GOP will go right along with it too.
“You knew I was a snake when you picked me up.”
Well, I have thought for a year that it would be a very big GOP victory, even with Romney.
I hope this happens. I’d feel better if he had a more inspiring nominee.
That's right. But only 100 senators -- seven states have no senators, because of racism.

I agree with you, it's a joke. And Rove probably did have something to do with it -- then threw it on this guy's desk while he was out to lunch, and ran out of the building.
I think not even the RiNO's believe this pap. I think what is in play here, is to see whether a constant stream of Romney articles can fetch the conservatives when the RiNO's whistle, and engage them in the Yacht Club's behalf behind their mega luser candidate.
This is more about trying to housebreak conservatives than anything else. The election may be a 40-state sweep, but it'll be for the Democrats -- Slick '96 all over again, and for the same reason.
<OT> Remember, speaking of Slick's re-up campaign in 1996, that the Yacht Club was quietly grooming Dubya in the background. Bob Dole actually winning would have been .... inconvenient.
Something like that may be happening here -- I would suspect that they are trying above all else to make sure the conservatives can't spoil a planned Jeb Bush launch for 2016 (by which time the depression will probably have played out so they can take the credit), if that is what they are doing.

Can you point me to someone or something that supports your theory about the editorial shift underway at Fox?
This guy is, at most, a fringe candidate. I find it quite difficult to believe our "Establishment" think he's their candidate ~ the man is, in fact, an idiot!
Talk to Mitt about stepping down out of the campaign. That’s the way to get our attention, otherwise the man is in the wrong party.
The man does not have the party base behind him. He's rather like a George McGovern type candidate ~ sure, he got the nomination, but he lost in a massive wipeout ~ much of it when Democrat voters didn't bother showing up on election day.
I’m showing up in November to vote down ticket. We need the Senate, and I’m going to do my part to oust another Dem.
He’s nucking futs...
Good grief... Barring a meteor hitting Romney in the head he’s going to be the nominee. You might hate it (I’m not a fan either) but you will need to come to grips sooner or later.
They believe that because the GOP-E is actually fringe, in and of itself.
Romney is obviously a plurality candidate - and that only because his opposition was so divided during the critical early primaries. Most Republicans don't like him, even if the Party insiders and Beltway-boy types do.
Same here...voted for Gingrich in the AZ primary...but there’s no way I’m casting a vote in the general that would allow the blue-lipped Communist an additional opportunity to destroy the country.
