Why do we need 67,000+ more “F”ing Moose-slimes in this country?

WTF!!!!

This REALLY pisses me off! We are trying to hire a jet pilot who is from Australia and most recently based in Poland. We were told by the attorney that it will be extremely difficult and have to match a list of approved jobs with his training. And then we can only have him for 6 years.

Maybe we should just sneak him across the Mexican border and everything will be fine. /s

Re: “And then we can only have him for 6 years.”

Trust me...

Once your pilot gets here on his H1-b Work Visa, he will be able to easily obtain a Green Card or USA citizenship within six years.

The good news is that he'll be afraid to leave your company until his paperwork comes through.

Until then, you can pay him a lot less money than you would have to pay a USA citizen for the same job.

there needs to be a standing order that all immigration is to be halted whenever unemployment exceeds 5%.

This not fair to American citizens in need of jobs or in need of better jobs.

My recollection from my LE experience many years ago, is that all new immigrants (green card holders) needed to have a job waiting or a sponsor agreeing to support the newby. What's the rule now?

In my opinion, the best possible immigration system would be based on your salary or wage.

If you get offered $250,000 a year, come on in!

If you get offered less, stay away!

You are very wrong. It is very hard to get citizenship from the US if you are english-speaking and white. It took us 8 years and it was no picnic. And we had the support of an expensive legal team from a Fortune-100 company. I'm sure it cost them 10's of thousands of dollars.

Hmmmm.

It’s still up in the air whether or not we can import him...the immigration attorney thinks it will be extremely difficult.

His wife is afraid to come here - afraid she’ll be shot. And he is making a gold mine in Poland - but that is ending.

That is good info about him being stuck with us however...that could solve some issues. Pilots are generally VERY portable.

So ACORN can register them to vote for their fellow muzzy.

I don't know your particular circumstance.

My own experience is based on foreign Ph.d graduates from USA universities.

STEM graduates - science, technology, engineering, math.

About 80% of the Ph.d’s from China, India, Russia, and Eastern Europe apply for and receive Green Cards or Citizenship.

The situation is reversed for Japanese, Western Europe, and oil rich Middle East Ph.d’s.

About 80% of them return to their native country.

I assumed that was because the standard of living and employment prospects are as good as or better than in the USA.

If I am mistaken, I apologize.

I assumed that was because the standard of living and employment prospects are as good as or better than in the USA.

I can think of only two reasons:

  1. Graduates from Western Europe are too lazy to file papers. It doesn't cost that much, but it will take time and effort.
  2. Graduates from Western Europe do not expect the USA to ever be better than their own countries. In other words, they come from stable and rich countries and expect no need for a backup home. Nothing bad happened in Europe in their lifetime, after all.

Obviously, people from China, India, Russia prefer to invest into the GC and the US citizenship "just in case." Fortunes of countries change pretty fast (ask Greece.) Having papers allows them to live in the USA and in their native countries, and to travel freely, without visas. Getting US residence papers looks like a very good idea, even if you aren't sure if you will ever live here.

“1.06 Million New “Green Cards” Issued In 2011”

Ok, this is what I’m talking about when I ask open border advocates, “How many foreigners should we allow??”

1.06 million green cards
PLUS Over a million more each year take the oath of citizenship.

PLUS ALL the ‘refugees’, usually admitted by the state Dept and not in the above figures.

We have 4 to 5 million admited LEGALLY each year and then throw in all the ILLEGAL ones!

We’re playing with fire.

Green cards - ONE year for Mexico - 143,446

Remember that figure the next time some propagandist tells you that there is no other way for Mexicans to get into the United states except ILLEGALLY crossing the border!

Like Craig Ferguson said when he took the oath of citizenship...there were 1 million Mexicans and him!

Ok, this is what I’m talking about when I ask open border advocates, “How many foreigners should we allow??

I been complaining about this (massive legal immigration) for years,

I have seen it here in Maryland. More than half my neighbors were in another home country 20 years ago, probably +60 %.

So far I am not impressed by their voting choices once they get citizenship. I have met a few disasters too,

Dont we have an unemployment problem?? Actually as I pinged you the unemployed are moving to disability as these folks take the jobs, till they catch on too.

Actually the disability scam is a long favored one for aliens. A SS administrator told me that not being able to speak English and not having marketable skills puts them in a favored category for disability...then they claim mental hardship because of the poor conditions they lived under in the old country and bingo...instant tax funded disability.

I am with you on this one. In Maryland college is discounted or free based on income, and last year Dems passed the Dream Act here for college illegals.

I have met so many young immigrants who came here on a family green card visa and then got free college in Maryland.(most in the state $$$ colleges)

And what really bugs me about it is that I talk to them and find that they worship government and like Obama said yesterday, “The government helped me so I want it to help others”. That is their attitude too. And they love Obama. Most get government jobs.

Get them government benefits early and they will call it their mommy for life.

You would think (if you didn't pay too much attention) that GOP POTUSes would not want the number of "immigrants on the path to citizenship" to explode, but in fact Papa Bush issued more green cards per year than any other POTUS I am aware of. Surprisingly (?), the number went way down under Clinton and went up again under Bush Jr.

I considered the theory that leftist POTUSes screw up the economy to the extent that illegals don't even want to come here, but Clinton had a low unemployment rate, and the number of green cards went down.

But maybe Obama will outdo the Bushes if he gets a 2nd term. Who knows.

I should have written "green card seekers" instead of "illegals," although in some cases they are both.
