Did someone order their copper thief “extra crispy”? If not they are going to be disappointed.

I was a Shift Manager in a large generating Station in the Northeast. I was in my office one night watch, one weekend, when I heard the unmistakable sound of a turbine generator winding down.
It seems some young lady broke up with a guy, it broke his heart. The guy decided to end it all by giving a 345KV line a BJ and knocked us out. Took a couple of days to find all of the pieces.

Back a few months ago there was a picture circulating on the Internet of two guys electrocuted while trying to steal copper wiring in the Dallas area. Gruesome ...

Ok, say you’re a metal recycler and someone comes in with wires that are obviously power wires, what do you do?
Apparently, all they do is give the perp the money without asking questions. Put some cameras in these places and make the seller prove where he got the cable.
Much as I dislike adding any more power to LE, what else is there to do since they don’t fry themselves on a regular basis?
