TRUE COLORS TIME (or Don't Let Newt Down)

TRUE COLORS TIME

If you listened closely to Sarah tonight on Levin’s program, she was pretty much endorsing Romney. I suspect she will hold her cards, won’t jump into the fray until the convention, where she will get maximum exposure for her particular agenda. And then she will play the good citizen role and support Romney. I’ve been worried about her since she showed up so ungraciously during the summer to rain on the parade of some of the more conservative candidates…

The same applies to her as everyone else... Not fighting, not helping Newt right now, is the same as voting for Obama.

I want you to think about something... if all these people, who call themselves conservative, who want to be thought of as conservative, all joined together – from Limbaugh – to Sarah – to Bachmann, and all the others – and in one voice said, No, we won’t, and worked their hearts out for Newt, starting this moment right now - instead of CYAing it; there would be no doubt who the next President would be. It would be Newt. It will still be Newt. But look what they are doing, look at the maneuvering, the shifting, the caving. In the space of a week the conservative world – political and otherwise – has become a cluster of Bart Stupak clones.

Even Santorum, what did he do? Faced with possible/probable defeat, he caved, he ran home. He didn’t like the amount of debt he was accumulating. He couldn’t see the math allowing him victory. So. He. Quit.

How does Mark Levin – any of them – ever complain about or criticize Boehner again? Or McConnell, or the Republican establishment? They are just as weak and spineless, just as compromised now.

True Colors Time.

America flickers, a lighthouse about to be engulfed by darkness. People are folding caving collapsing all around us, and we are being chided for not being realists…

Realists on the banks of the Delaware would have tried to convince those First Patriots it was too cold, too dark, too much ice; the pragmatic thing was to wait for another day when conditions were better, the risks not so great…

Exactly who is behaving like George Washington right now? And who are the cowards?

Next time..

Four years from now, they will look back and call these times carefree, like the play of children. It will never be easier than it is right now. Next time, it will be harder. Where will the repurposed courage come from then?

It is always going to require biting down hard while terror circuits through you – facing annihilation; not facing impossible mathematical odds, facing annihilation.

Who will there be then to face down the kind of raw fear that cakes the back of the throat and jellies out muscles and nerves? Who? And where will they be found?

They have Newt now... experienced, battle hard, for the most part fearless, doesn’t know how to quit. There is no one else now; there never was. There will be no one else the next time, if there is a next time; because next time, not even a Newt will be sufficient.

The fainting conservatives see the GOP establishment, its power, everywhere and deep, arrayed around them, able to twist events and turn people to their will – the same way that American soldier saw the British fleet in Boston Harbor - as if all of London was afloat before his eyes.

Yet they carried on. A rag tag bunch, one step ahead of annihilation. It should be a song in your hearts by now.

They carried on and today I am writing to you about them. And their True Colors Time. I know everyone around us is fainting, finding excuses for fainting, trying to make their fainting seem purposed - or holy - pragmatic. But, they are still just fainting.

Fret not.

Faint not.

Fear not.

NEWT GINGRICH... The Last Conservative Standing. He Deserves Your Very Best.

I just posted an opinion elsewhere on a Cain thread, who today reportedly endorses Romney, addressing the GRANDE COP-OUT to retain fame and fortune and fu-fu life style.

The fall back phrase for the GRANDE COP-OUT is this one; “ABO”!

My suggestion is that these so-called “conservatives” are BLING, as opposed to the real thing and they are showing themselves before the PRIMARY, a travesty! The primary is the last bastion of the people’s VOICE, and for any protest.

To avoid appearing TOO concervative when things get tough, we’re seeing “conservatives” falling over, caving in, and to the very cabal many of them collect paychecks to oppose!

Everyone wants to be a Paul Revere, but there is not a William Wallace among them, willing to go to the rack for freedom.

It’s so much easier to ride through the cobblestone streets on your conservative high horse sounding out, “Obama is coming”, “Obama is coming”, but then collapse and shut down the fight when it gets tough.

These people are making a choice. There choice is a preference for Romney’s sins over NEWT’s, which were but personal, hardly of national impact upon the people. Of the two, only one repented and reformed.

Go figure.

Newt was never for abortion, gay marriage, mandating socialism and charging the Catholic Church for the abortion provided in it, in MA, etc., etc.

The primary is our last moment for protest.

Obama and Romney. Evil and Evil Lite. What kind of choice is that. There is no excuse for a socialist to be a nominee of the Republican Party.

After all, there is a GOD. We should be supporting Newt and trusting God for the rest. Instead, we’re going with a wing and a prayer that Romney will “save” us, thinking he has the best chance to beat Obama and leaving God out of it.

IF, perhaps, just IF, this is a test from God—we’re definitely failing it. In spades.

WOW. You took my breath away there, what a great post.

Yep, Herman has an observable habit of hitting the trail when the going gets tough... oh, well.

The power of your post is nearly immeasurable. So for the umpteenth time in the past few months, I AM GOING TO STEAL IT BIG TIME!!

It's Hammer Time!

God bless you for your steadfast heart...

I just do not understand how conservatives and alike will vote for Romney with all of the radical polices in which he set into law. It is like seeing the titanic going down. People are giving in and giving up to the media’s wants. If we all form a unity, we can stop the party from forcing Mitt upon us. All of these so called talk show pundits that made their wealth and fame on conservatism, left it when they need to fight along with those of us who are at the grassroots.

I am strong.

I am for Newt not for those who say I am suppose to line up for mitt/ by these people who play conservatives on TV and on radio for the money. Conservatism is very profitable. Thanks for posting your thread.

I agree, that's the thing with thugs, they pretty much do what they want, when they want, only MAYBE NOT THIS TIME.

Newt is his own worst enemy. He is nothing more than a big mouth narcissitic egomaniac. I’m surprised you haven’t done an in depth study of the things he has said and done. After the first debate, he acknowledged he had jotted down the phrase “gotcha questions” and planned to use it at the first opportunity, so he used it on Chris Wallace when Chris asked a question any good journalist would have asked. Newt attacked John King for asking a question about comments made by his second wife, and Newt said ‘his friends were willing to testify that the comments were lies.’ When asked to produce the friends, the only people who agreed to testify were his two daughters.

After he passed the Contract With America, he decided to change some of the promises he made. When some of the Congressmen refused to support him in lying to the American citizens, he threw a tantrum and threatened them. Former Congressman Steve Largent took to the podium and told him he had been threatened by 300 lb. linemen, and he would not be intimidated by Speaker Gingrich....he refused to betray the people who had elected him!

I find nothing to recommend Newt Gingrich and would never vote for anyone so lacking in discipline and character! I do believe he is a narcissistic egomaniac.

It's called Primary fatigue. Most Republicans want to move on to attacking Obama, tired of attacking one another.

Most of those you listed said they wouldn't endorse a specific candidate in the primary because they would in the end support whoever the actual nominee is, even Romney. You have to listen closely and not filter what you hear with what you want to hear.

Palin long ago and more than once said she would support Romney if he was the nominee. Yes there was a bunch of mythology created about her that she would slay the establishment candidate (Romney) and then go on to beat Obama in the debates. That was great $$$$$ business. Then when she admitted she wasn't running a smaller myth was created by Newt (encouraged by Palin) that he was that one, He told us many times he couldnt lose the nomination but he looks like he is, and badly too. He is a long time book-speech seller master and he taught her how to do it.

Even if Romney gets beat by Obama they have to be seen as opposing Obama in it, no matter what they think.

This reminds me of what they call the “honeymoon period” in a marriage. The newness wears off and reality sets in.

Or worst-case she grabs the kids while the husband is at work and flees to another state or country but still manages to successfully sue him for child support in his home state.

I have seen that happen in real life a few times.

There are some of us who haven't voted yet. Should our vote not count? I will be very happy to vote for Newt. When the convention comes around and Romney gets the nomination I will decide then what the future shall hold. But I haven't cast my vote yet!

I know tat you think that you will make this come out different but without delegates on the floor Newt and Rick do not have a chance of being the nominee. I am still working for the person I consider the most conservative.

What you seem to want to do is to pretend that somehow showing up without delegates is going to get you the nomination.

I do not know if you are old enough to remember the anticipated floor fight between Ford and Reagan. I am. We knew that if we could just get past the first round everything would go our way....Ford ended up being the nominee. All the disgruntled folks who hated Ford decided to stay home and let the democrat party have at it. That is when we got Carter....

Sarah publicly supported Newt twice, at a critical time. And her husband publicly endorsed him. Now, does anyone think her husband would do that without her approval? He’s not a political guy.

She also tweeted several times in Newt’s favor.

That gave Newt a boost, but regretably it didn’t last long. That was for him to deal with, not Sarah.

As a Fox News employee, there are lines she cannot cross. Roger Ailes has already made it clear that he regrets hiring her. She couldn’t have made it more obvious who she supported without crossing the lines as a news employee. She did her part, which was to give Newt a boost at a critical moment—the same moment, actually, when Jim Robinson declared his support. It’s not her job to pick Newt up and carry him. He needs to make it on his own, although with her clear support. As I said before, she can’t do it for him.

“2)make sure that Obama does NOT have a second term.

“Which is, in effect, saying you will vote romney, rather than get on the battlefield and do your best to see that he isn’t the nominee.”

So now who’s admitting defeat?

You keep posting these little anti-support statements of Newt, only you never say who you support, just some sort of vague comments, like ‘I am supporting the person I think is most conservative’.

Who do you support? Would that someone be Ron Paul? And why are you afraid to come out and say who you support. Look at the posts on this thread alone, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind who these people support, one way or another.

Maybe one of the many reasons we like and support Newt is that HE HAS COURAGE.

“Instead, we’re going with a wing and a prayer that Romney will “save” us, thinking he has the best chance to beat Obama and leaving God out of it.”

I (and I’m sure many others here) pray every night for God to bless us and our country with another chance, that millions in it still love and worship Him, and to give us a righteous leader and rid us of BHO and his evil group.

I’ve done this for more months than I can remember, going back to when we very first knew Herman Cain was running. Well, we see what happened there, so I try not to ask for Newt by name in my prayers, but........ :-)

You’re right - we very much need to depend on God and also pray for his mercy for our dear republic.
