Great thread.
I was raised North of Ft. Worth about 50 miles and my Dad worked at Vough Aeronautics in Grand Prairie. There was a Naval Air Station there adjacent to LTV where they tested the aircraft Vought buil;t for the Navy.
I remember visiting both places as a child and seeing the old B-36 bombers. They used to have a big one parked out in front for years.

Ft.Worth is my home town...When I got out of the Navy,301st TFW was one of my jobs at Carswell AFB. Aviation Ordnance Tech....then Munitions and Aircraft maintenance controller. F-105s then F-4s was what we had at the time. Lots of memories there some good and bad. Lost a pilot and rio in lake worth on final approach.
