PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police are investigating another flash mob theft by a group of teens, this time at Nordstrom at the Lloyd Center.
Last week, a group of 16 teens converged on a Southeast Portland convenience store and stole merchandise and then ran out. Police are still investigating the incident.
Friday's incident happened just after 8 p.m. Police interviewed employees of the store who said a group of approximately 10 African-American male teenagers were in the store and began taking items and putting them in bags before they ran out the southwest doors of the store toward Northeast 9th Avenue.
Police who checked the area recovered some of the stolen clothing, but did not find the teens, who are ages 13-19 years old and all wearing hats and hoodies with their faces covered.
Cherise Vanhooser, who works at Lloyd Center, wasn't surprised at the incident.
"Kids steal all the time at the Lloyd center," she said. "I mean, I'm constantly dealing with it at work. I know a lot of the other managers are. It's just a constant problem. You always have to have someone on the floor because you can't trust anybody."
Police said they will work with Nordstrom officials to get surveillance video to help their investigation.
Anyone with information about this theft should email information to Portland Police.
Guns don't kill flash mob raging teenage black male thiefs, people do. ;-)
A long hot summer is right. The left and the race-baitors have been itching for a return to the 60’s style racial riots for some time now.
No argument from 0 - it will give him a chance to see how NDAA works out.
Yeah, but “no profiling” remember?
It’s just plain unfair, racist, illegal, and down right selfish to not let bored minority teens have what they want.
Reminds me of stories I heard about the Chinese Cultural Revolution where Red Guard members could pretty much take anything they wanted by evoking Mao's name. That way the Great Helmsman could keep the merchant classes cowed & in line.
First there was a smile and a hand shake.
Then there was surveillance video.
Then there was RFID gates at all entrances.
Then there was a guy who checked bags.
Pretty soon you won’t be allowed in or out of a store without being checked first, in a controlled area reminiscent of a TSA checkpoint that raises the cost of all goods 25%, because a bunch of asshats can’t go a day without making someone else’s life hell.
I’m wondering who is going to have their fill first. The takers, or the providers. Either way a bunch of mangy animals are going to be put out of their misery and the whole nation will benefit from the cleansing.
Not that I’m bitter, or jaded, or cynical. Nothing like that.
Just "Obama's sons" and "Holder's people" achieving social justice.
Mutants would be more like it.
No video needed......
"did not find the teens... all wearing hats and hoodies"
Just how do they know this?

Still waiting for an all white flash mob of thieves.Has anyone ever heard of one?
Sounds familliar! We bent the heck out of some of the rules, but nothing that would get us in jail (at the time).
Police who checked the area recovered some of the stolen clothing, but did not find the teens, who are ages 13-19 years old and all wearing hats and hoodies with their faces covered. It's probably too expensive to keep a group of thugs handy to take care of biz as these little vandals exit, but having entrance doors that lock down to prevent entry by a suddenly assembling group of hoods wouldn't be that bad.
My family credo was that nobody owed us *nuthin’*.
You went out and got what you wanted or you shut up and did without.
That’s why God gave us hind legs to stand up on.
“Go figger.”
Our Dads were there for us, no matter what. Their “dads” are AWOL. Big diff between you, me and them.
He was a prison guard so I didn’t “bend” much....;D
When I was 15, I hooked school *once* and naturally, as I started to get on the bus, both the vice principal [who was on a first name basis with my mom] *and* the truant officer happened to be driving by.
I was royally screwed.
On “Senior Hook Day”, I was the only senior in school.
The only funny part about the hooking was that I got five days detention....*in the school library*.
Yeah.
“Tortures of the damned” for book-wormy me, that was....LOL
Yeah but he still would have let me rot in jail....LOL
Expect incidents of looting at stores and malls. These looting sprees will include suburban malls. The gangs will have vehicles. They will have safe-houses in the suburbs, thanks to the Section 8 housing program. The actual shoplifters will be unarmed teens, but will have armed backup hanging around in case they get into trouble (in any robbery, never assume that the visible robber is the only bad guy in the place). They will be so numerous that the police will not want to deal with them.
The cost of these robberies will be passed along to regular customers, and will have the same net effect as their robbing you and me individually.
You were lucky enough to have had a family that cared about your morality. I didn't, but it turned out to not matter. Throughout my long life I had the good sense to obey laws and more importantly, my own moral compass. As a consequence, I have no record of any law-breaking nor any moral transressions. I sleep well at night.
These cretins described in the article, on the other hand, probably had no familial guidance, nor the good sense to walk the straight and narrow. There is no hope for them, nor those like them. We'll just have to defend ourselves from them.
Indoor shopping malls are going to go the way of the Dodo Bird.
I haven’t set foot in one for years, and I don’t plan to ever go to one again.
