We are not yet defeated. Per Alinsky play book, they want us to feel defeated. But, if you look at the facts although it looks difficult, it is not impossible to still prevent Romney from winning the Nomination.
Romney only has 535 committed delegates now. There are not many winner take all States left to win. And the pattern for Romney in proportional states is he wins urban but not rural areas. So, if conservatives come out to vote and in enough numbers while contining to vote the Not-Romney ticket he will be denied the 1444 he needs. The GOPe and Dems want us to feel defeated when we are not yet defeated.
And a push to "Vote Not-Romney & Take It To The Convention" is not subject to Rove's Negative attack machine. It is possible we can still stop him if we spread the word far enough. Continue voting not-Romney and help get not-Romney delegates for the convention.
So spread the word, make it something positive to do. Vote Not Romney in the remaining states and take it to the Convention for a do over.
I am hoping that Santorum does not endorse Romney, but I seldom get what I hope for out of politics.
Nixon was a VP before he was POTUS.
Apples and oranges.
YES! A 60-day campaign by a newly-selected candidate is just the thing to win this election against Obama!
All potential candidates will have their national campaign set up, staffed, ads prepared, bumper stickers and signs printed, dates planned for debates, schedules completely filled out prior to attending the convention. They won’t want to waste any of that 60-day window.
What a great idea! I’m behind it 110%!
The only vote he could EVER get from me is a strategic, last resort, "Anyone But Obama" vote.
I’m Barak Hussein Obama and I approve this post.
I hope anybody but Romney gets the nomination.
Failing that, anybody who sits home insures another 4 years of Obama. And that is probably unsurvivable.
See tagline.
It’s good news for the Obama team.
In all seriousness, the primaries have been fought and it is over. Only one person would benefit from this been dragged out to the convention, Barak Obama. Like it or not, that is reality.
I’m supporting Newt, but if the nominee is Romney I’m finished with the GOP. He will install his liberal socialist ilk in all the positions of power in the RNC. If you thought the GOP-e was bad now, wait until he is finished installing his people.
If Romney is nominee, I will probably vote for Virgil Goode. I don’t know much about him yet, but so far he looks good. Here is his website.

well...... we're not there yet- posted as such yesterday. Glad to see this new posting Mech. !

At this point, all you will accomplish is lending a helping hand to the Left. I live in a state that has a late primary. So I will vote for the guy who has won it all ready. I feel I’m helping by keeping up morale. If I voted in an early primary, I vote a combination of heart and mind, but I don’t live in one. The enemy is the Left, not ourselves. If it becomes ourselves, I fear I will never see any sort of conservative leaning government in my lifetime, and I’m not that old. Remember the old saying, perfect can be the enemy of the good.
I DID NOT mean to post this twice, my system is slow and I didn’t realize it had already been posted the first time.
Apologies.
I did however mean to make the point that a brokered convention, as late as this one is schedule in the election cycle, can only, as has been said by others, give us four more tragic years of The Won.
I will do everything in my power to keep that from happening.
Obots are not wanted on FR. You two should leave.
I haven't seen one yet in my voting lifetime and I'm starting to feel old.
Your statement is so...let me put it to you this way: Ronald Reagan in October, 1980, polled around 30% but he went on to win the Presidency in November, 1980. Your statement is wrong.
Never, never, never give up.
Since you talk like a quitter, I’m sure the rest of the rebels here on Free Republic wouldn’t mind if you quit and go to another online site, say the Democratic Underground.
Romney is a self-professed socialist, a fascist. Did you know that?
We have an opportunity to knock that fascist pig right out of the party and you’re going to vote for him?
If you’re not a Conservative, why are you on Free Republic?
I was getting ready to ask you if you were going to invite me to leave also.
Thanks so much for meeting my expectations!
Are you actually someone who can MAKE me leave, or are you just blithering?
“Brokred conventions” What brokered convention ?
Lady I aib’t buying your b/s about a “brokered convention” your talking point is designed to detract from the issue and that is the complete rejection of Obabacare and all that goes with it which a good showing by Santorum would bring....
Peddle that b/s elsewhere
EXCELLENT!!! Yes we need this guerilla warfare now against the GOP-e. This works just fine. We can change the narrative. This is what the Vigurie Santorum conservative strategy group must now come forward and urge! Spread the word. I am sure Jim would be able to encourage this too...
