Remember Cardillo. Its a bitter watchword for two generations of the thin blue line in New York City. Forty years ago this Saturday, Police Officer Phillip Cardillo was shot in an apparent ambush at Louis Farrakhans Mosque #7 in Harlem; he died six days later. No one was ever convicted in the case. Roadblocks were thrown up at every turn in the investigation. Why? Was it politics? Race? Or did the FBI tank the Cardillo probe to shield high-level confidential informants?

Forty years ago this Saturday, NYPD Officer Phillip Cardillo was gunned down in Louis Farrakhan's Mosque #7 in Harlem. No one was ever convicted in the killing. Now New York Post reporters Micah Morrison, Phil Messing and Don Kaplan, have uncovered new leads in the case. Was the main suspect a longtime FBI informant? Did the FBI shield a cop killer?

Extremely poorly written article, by THREE writers.
The NY Post should hire 6 to write it the next time. Three of them might get it right.

RIP Phillie. I was in the 77 when you were murdered. It still feels like yesterday that it happened. Those interested in learning more should get Randy Jurgensen’s book “Circle of Six: The True Story of New York’s Most Notorious Cop-Killer and The Cop Who Risked Everything to Catch Him”

So do you have the low down on where Lewis 17X Dupree is and what he's doing these days?
There aren't any pics of consequence that I can find and he appears to have dropped off the face of the Earth.
Surely he must be celebrated somewhere for what happened that day.

Why does presumptive “Christian” Charlie Rangel show up with Louis Farrakhan at the scene of the crime?
