Notice: Free Republic has been in full rebellion mode since 2008 and will remain in full rebellion mode for the duration!
No more Doles!! No more McCains!! No more RINOS!!
NO ROMNEY!!
Those who cannot stomach rebellion might as well start looking for a new home on the net!!
Those who have ignored my hundreds of posts on this crucial issue or who have doubted me these last three or four years might as well get used to it. FR will never support the abortionist, homosexualist, socialist, mandate loving, constitution trampling liar Mitt Romney.
In case you haven't noticed, a TEA Party rebellion is on and Free Republic signed on years ago. There is no turning back. No more crap from the GOP-e!! They've screwed us for the last time!! Karl Rove and Mitt Romney, et al, loathe conservatism and loathe the tea party and took it upon themselves to use their money and connections to destroy nearly every one of our conservative tea party candidates while pushing their big government RINOS. That makes them the enemy. I will not reward that betrayal by giving them my support or my vote.
FR is and will remain a pro-life, pro-limited government conservative site!!
We are beholden to NO ONE!! We bow to no kings!! We bow to NO RINOS!!
I'd rather fight and die like a man than bend over and be screwed by a RINO!! I refuse to kiss Karl Rove or Mitt Romney's rings!! They can kiss my rosy red ass instead!!
FUMR!! FUGOP!!
Long live the rebellion!!
Hope my message is clear.
OK, enough of the “Stay Home” stuff.
I do NOT recall Jim Rob saying “Stay Home”.
But voting FOR Romney is out. Vote someone else. Deny the winner, ANY winner a plurality, a majority, a mandate. Vote for the Constitution Party Candidate. Write in Sarah.
VOTE DOWN TICKET. This is indeed a fight. Deny them Congress. Fight for the White House. Newt is still VERY VIABLE.
Pray. Alot, without ceasing, as it were.
Phony.
Look, this site is the best anywhere.
Most of us come here because of the intelligent back and forth discussions, unbound by the narrow-minded self censorship which has rendered most real ideas to be reduced, blended and pulped into political velveeta; We read breaking news here hours before any of the MSM gets around to noticing, if they even report at all. This is one of the only places anywhere which is not owned and operated by the combined left and right establishments.
We’ll have no impact on the GOP establishment, by fighting with each other.
Right now, let’s try and keep Romney from rolling over this thing. A brokered convention would turn this race on its head.
If that doesn’t work, despite all best efforts, let’s think about how we can bring to bear somehow, now and in the future, the same ideas and energy which brought the Tea Party movement into almost magical form.
We’re not going to solve things, by just complaining.
Sure it’s frustrating. But lashing out really isn’t very productive.
if you’re in a solid blue state, I agree with you. If you live in California, find that perfect constitution party candidate (and hope that he or she is politically pure as the driven snow) and vote early and often.
HowEVER, if you’re in a purple state, well, I might disagree with you. In fact, I do disagree with you.
You have to assume that Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy, Roberts, or Alito will die or retire or be removed from office before you can assume that Obama gets to nominate a replacement for them.
Th rolls are rapidly shrinking here for a reason. You just illustrated why.
On the off chance that Romney would make an inappropriate supreme court appointment, conservatives could always take them down, just like we did with Miers. But no, of course, your right. We’re much better off with Obama making the appointments. I’m sure that’ll work out.
No. Look at the link that I provided, and you'll see that I am actually talking about the 'other side' of the SCOTUS (i.e. Ginsburg, Bryer, etc..).
I was disappointed to learn the original tavern, originally around the corner on Union St, is gone. The current one dates to the 1860s.
Why aren’t you on Newt threads supporting your guy?
Mom, I did not even hint that I’d reconsider and vote for Romney. I won’t. He is not even remotely conservative. He is not an impure conservative. He is not a conservative at all. He never has been. He never will be. His record speaks volumes and it is an atrocious record of a radical liberal.
I have financially supported in order: Perry, Gingrich, and Santorum. I just sent my latest donations to: Free Republic and The Constitution Party.
So...there you have it.
I’m voting conservative, and I want you to do the same.
Amen to that!!!! And I think the good folks on FR for the education about Romney. At one time I would've voted for him as the GOP nominee, but as time goes on and more revelations come out about him, no way will I vote for that scumbag. He's dead in the water, anyway. As things are progressing now, Romney will have his hands full holding 20 states.
THIS voter has joined the Constitution Party and will proudly vote CONSERVATIVE in November's Presidential election.
****VIRGIL GOODE 2012****
I *THANK* the good folks on FR.....
Finally I found your strategy, Jim! This post does clarify it for me. Some of us — me — are bright but stupid. I needed more clarity on the action part of your strategy.
I guess phase one is now: vote Gingrich and see where that goes. I don’t really think he’d make a good president, but it’s a way to say “bleep you” to the GOPe.
November and stopping Obama is a long time away.
Let’s puff up, Tea Partiers, today, and appear huge and in number AGAINST THE RINO. We must stop them from ever taking us for granted again! I wish we could have huge conservative protests at the RINO convention. That would get huge media coverage.
I’m in!
I’m sorry. If you gave the link indicating you meant one of the 4, then I agree with you. I believe one of those 4 just might retire. However, it won’t change the balance of the court.
That’s what was so critical about the last election when we presented milquetoast as our candidate. He gave up, wouldn’t fight, quit...whatever. He disengaged.
With JP Stevens as a possibility, we could have actually forged a 6-3 liberty conservative majority. But the GOP-e threw it or McCain was totally inept. I’d like to think we were smarter than that, but we weren’t.
swpa_mom,
In my case, I’ve been voting for the “least worst” since Reagan left office... and how has that worked out for us?
With Romney destined for a huge defeat, I’ve viewing this as a no-risk opportunity for conservatives across the land to migrate to a party in which we have a voice. My personal choice is the Constitution Party.
Likely, Virgil Goode is going to be that party’s nominee... Why settle.. once again.. for the gray, bland, faded pastels of Romney, when we have a bold-color conservative available? Is Goode going to win? No... but neither is Romney.
I’m not laying down this time and placidly accepting the GOP’s version of “inevitable.” The only thing “inevitable” in 2012 is Romney is going to have his a** handed to him.
Hey roscommon,
You’re accusing me of unhinged behavior and gutter language?
You claim reading my post is akin to reading a post on DU?
Care to explain yourself?
If you’re unable or unwilling to do that, then I question your presence here.
Well, you voted for McCain, the solid conservative. Or, wait you went against your conscience and voted for him, realizing that Obama would be a disaster, which of course, he is.
Look, I understand the frustration of you and others, myself included. Romney isn’t on my short list. However, voting for the spoiler third party IF you’re in a red or purple state does nothing except make the people at NBC giddy. They’ll be saying “look at those flyover hicks following our orders to vote third party”.
I blame everyone who did *NOT* fully support A candidate during this primary.
I’m also happy to see that you supported Santorum and didn’t eliminate him for his Specter endorsement. Rick Santorum is a good man, trashed by this horrible media we have.
Fair point.
Whether Mitt Romney is a conservative or a moderate is really a matter of which Mitt Romney one means. (Since he is the quintessential flip-flopper, Romney can be quoted on either side of several different issues.)
Still, I tend to believe that, if elected, Romney will govern as a conservative; if for no other reason than pure self-interest: He would surely prefer to dispel any questions as regarding his conservative pedigree, so as to position himself favorably for re-election in 2016.
