In case you haven't noticed, a TEA Party rebellion is on and Free Republic signed on years ago. There is no turning back. No more crap from the GOP-e!! They've screwed us for the last time!! Karl Rove and Mitt Romney, et al, loathe conservatism and loathe the tea party and took it upon themselves to use their money and connections to destroy nearly every one of our conservative tea party candidates while pushing their big government RINOS. That makes them the enemy. I will not reward that betrayal by giving them my support or my vote.

I’ll end with this as there’s really no further point. As I said on the thread earlier, any ‘conservative’ that votes/endorsed Romney. Newt, Palin or even Reagan himself were he still alive, would become part of the problem.
Becasue it goes against everything that. up to this point, they claimed to believe in. In fact, I KNOW Reagan would never do it because he spoke against doing that very thing. Good enough for Regan, good enough for me. Others may differ, but conservative they are not.

I didn't post opinions about Romney to you. I challenged you on your statements about John McCain, not Romney, and when you couldn't refute a word I said you ducked and weaved out of it by bringing Romney up. Tig, we are now in a world where fantasy rules. Liberal ideas are now mainstream thought on FR. I noted on another thread that the tactics of the ‘vote Romney’ clan are indistinguishable from regular libs on DU/KOS etc.
On this page we have a guy posting movie quotes while ignoring historical quotes from the Founding Fathers and another guy that’s bandying bait and switch liberalism ploys as a debate tactic. I really think that dispute Jim’s best efforts at rat control, they infected a lot of once good people. If this is how the modern conservative thinks, the rest of us better find a new name quick.
The reason for the latter is in the former. Manipulation and other disingenuous techniques of discussion are classic leftist traits but the reason for their employment is more fundamental than their ideology. It is the nature of self-delusion to try to cover for it with falsehoods and defensiveness. It is classically liberal to do that because their world view begins and ends with delusions. But it's the same with anyone who lives in denial no matter what the fantasy is.
The indefensible position requires monumental effort and intricacy of distorted logic to maintain it.
