- During a meeting with 18 Delaware Tea Party leaders here on Wednesday, Newt Gingrich lambasted The Fox News Channel, accusing the cable news network that employed him as recently as last year of having been in the tank for Mitt Romney from the beginning of the Republican presidential fight and singling out former colleagues for attacking him out of what he characterized as personal jealousy.
“I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through,” Gingrich said during the private meeting at Wesley College to which RealClearPolitics was granted access. “In our experience, Callista and I both believe CNN is less biased than Fox this year. We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of Fox, and we’re more likely to get distortion out of Fox. That’s just a fact.”
Gingrich’s contract as a Fox News contributor was terminated last spring, as he was gearing up for his White House run.
The former House Speaker’s blunt remarks about Fox came in response to a question from one of the Delaware Tea Party leaders about the manner in which his campaign has been treated by conservative media outlets.
Gingrich did not pull his punches in accusing Rupert Murdoch -- the chairman and CEO of the News Corporation, Fox News’ parent company -- of pushing for Romney behind the scenes.
“I assume it’s because Murdoch at some point said, ‘I want Romney,’ and so ‘fair and balanced’ became ‘Romney,’” Gingrich said. “And there’s no question that Fox had a lot to do with stopping my campaign because such a high percentage of our base watches Fox.”

He has said several times, all the jostling was good for the candidates, straight through the primaries, it was making them better candidates, let the debate and the discussion go on.
Now, all of a sudden, it's time to support romney and focus on Obama.
Santorum had barely quit 4 hours earlier. He couldn't even wait till the dust cleared or the first polls came out without Santorum, to see how it all settled out. It was time right now to start supporting romney.
He also said some very negative things about Newt, but it would be too sad to repeat them. I cried last night. but it was very very eye-opening, to say the least.

Gimmie a break. Newt is and was a HORRIBLE candidate who has a very limited appeal with voters. The fact he was touted as a potential nominee just shows how dreadful the Republican party has become. We have a lying incompetent President and this was the best the GOP could field? Awful. Just awful.

Oh, I have a feeling by the time this all shakes out, a lot of people's true colors will be shown. I am still reeling from Mark Levin endorsing Romney last night. I would have bet the farm he wouldn't have done that till he was the nominee. I mean the farm, if I had one.

I don't know what's going on with Mark Levin. I decided awhile back that rush was a stealth romney supporter, it irritated me, but I think Rush has always been part of the establishment, and likes being considered a kingmaker. I would imagine most of his rich friends supported romney from the get-go.
Not only does Mark Levin know about romney's horrible record, just tonight he was railing against romney. I don't know what's up, but I would guess it will become more apparent as the days go on.
I think it might have something to do with Santorum. One of the things he said last night was Newt should have gotten out, and supported Santorum to form a united conservative front against Romney.
Levin has some real blind spots when it comes to Santorum. And Santorum has pandered to him on the air, so who knows what he has said to him about Newt behind closed doors. That would be the most merciful rendering of it - Mark stepping up because a friend asked him to...

same here. I can't remember when I last looked at FOX. Even now, I rarely go back an look at Palin on youTube. She was the last person I would tune in to see on FOX.
FOX is about as Conservative as Mitt.
LOL. Mitt is a fraud. If he had an honest bone in his body he would run as a RAT. At least Obama would never lie and pretend to be a Conservative.
I still pray everyday that Mitt will falter and lose the nomination. If he gets the GOP-e nod, I will have great joy watching him get slaughtered on Election night. I will vote Conservative down ticket and do a write-in for President.

What crock. What most likely will happen is Obmam will bring the government bureaucracy crashing down (not his intention). The people will always be able to recover once we hit rock bottom.
There will be serious structural reform. The good hard working people will rise up peacefully to throw off the chains of local, state and national government sadists. If the parasite class resists, they will be pushed aside by all means necessary.

I stopped listening to Rush after Bloody Thursday. I stopped sometime back listening to Mark because he was unfairly attacking Newt. I am much happier not having them try to fool me into voting from Mitt. I get my news mainly from Free Republic.
You’re just asking to get your fanny kicked off of Free Republic. This isn’t about being emotionally invested with a candidate: it is about love of country and wanting to save it.
Romney is a self-professed progressive, and a fascist by any other name is still a fascist, no matter what effort is made to change the name and sweeten appearances.
