Herman Cain made clear Tuesday that he is ready to throw his support behind Mitt Romney, making no mention of his endorsement of Newt Gingrich.
I have always said I will support whoever the nominee is and it looks like Mitt Romneys going to be that nominee, and we do need to get behind him, Cain said on Fox News. I remind people all the time Keep your eye on the mission. And the mission is to get control of the Senate, maintain control of the House and defeat Barack Obama. That means get behind the nominee, so, yes, Im ready to get behind the nominee

Et tu, Herman?
Thanks and will check it out:)
Oh give me a break.
Are we really going to dump on every Republican and Conservative radio host, that says they will support the Republican nominee? If you are, then you may as well turn off Rush, Levin, Savage, Hannity, Ingraham, Bennett, Beck and all the rest, and not listen to them the rest of the year. And better not turn on FOX for the next month or so, because sure as hell, you will see Perry, Palin, Bachmann, and Santorum, all on there saying they fully back the Romney ticket.
“He may not be getting out because he sees imminent defeat. He may be getting out for close personal reasons. I cant imagine what him and his family is going through.”
My bet is on his possible loss in PA which he wouldn’t be able to stomach. Prayers up for Bella and the family, but this situation was not new and he knew it would take up much of his time.
Just wrote him a check tonight..will mail it tomorrow. BtW...read a “vintage” Newt statement wherein Newt asked Romnney to drop out of the election..lol. Got to love the Speaker
Thank you. While I didn’t read the article, I did read the excerpt and it didn’t sound like Mr. Cain was endorsing Romney nor dropping Mr. Newt, plus it’s from the Polutico so I’ll take it with barely a grain of salt.
This crowd is all over Newt all the way to convention.
It’s true that Newt and Herb jumped the gun about 48 hours early, speaking in terms of the “likely” nominee and declaring their support, when Romney secured it, now followed by Rick dropping out.
We want a convention, not a coronation to GOP-E applause with no protest.
It is over. Romney will start getting over 50% in upcoming primaries. Newt has been a distant third other than Georgia and South Carolina. He will not pick up the bulk of the Santorum voters. In my opinion it is over. Now it’s time to decide whether or not to support Romney over Obama. As much as I don’t like Romney, I think it is an easy choice.
I doubt you will hear Rush endorse Romney and Perry recently confirmed his committment to Newt. As for Santorum backing Romney..well, he did endorse him 3 yrs ago. LOOK..we are tired of voting for damn rinos and do not care what Rove, Coulter or Fox says. <.p>
Romney is steaming full speed ahead with a date with an iceberg called Obama.
I’ll stick with Newt through the CA primary for all the good it will do.
But I most likely will have to hold my nose for Romney in the general.
How many rino’s do we have to endure before the republican party wakes up? they didn’t learn a thing from the McCain nomination and here we go again
I’m not ready to give up till the end. As a small business man I’ve been down and out and all but cemented over. A couple of moves and a ton of luck I’m back on top.
Never give up! Newts my guy.
Mitt Romney is a national socialist, a fascist. What is easy about that choice?
Ronald Reagan would roll over in his grave at the thought of Mitt Romney as president. Nancy and Michael Reagan have sang Newt’s praises
thnaks for the link
I am sickened by how many, especially here in FR, are ready to take SAntorum’s pull out as a victory for Romney and dismissing Newt - when this is a great opportunity for Newt and US - dammit all, people, stop swallowing the media hype.
Have we learned NOTHING?
Nobody should have...he's just being Cain and still thinks what he says matters in a political sense. He never said anything I thought was more than a desire to be in the front line.....he was having "fun" IMO at voters expense.
Ya know some people you just don't like no matter what they project...I din't "like" Cain as a candidate at all...though likely an ok guy...but that's as far as I would go with Cain.....Now 'West"...oh definately a man good for the country!
In case I slept an extra long time and missed it all, I don’t believe all 57 states have voted yet nor do I believe Romney has enough delegates to seal the deal.
You've been for mittens from the get go.
Get and go
