That didnt take long: Newt Gingrich has humbly asked Rick Santorum supporters to channel their support (read: money) to his campaign.
The Gingrich camp, deeply in debt after dismal performances in recent primary races, released a statement minutes after Mr. Santorums exit from the Republican primary this afternoon, saying, Rick has waged a remarkable campaign. His success is a testament to his tenacity and the power of conservative principles.
I humbly ask Senator Santorums supporters to visit Newt.org to review my conservative record and join us as we bring these values to Tampa, Mr. Gingrichs statement continued. The former House speakers website, like most candidates, puts its funding pitch front and center.

Don’t forget to add Newt’s recent call for Santorum to step down, which included the twist of the knife when he said to the reporter that Rick couldn’t take Michigan and Ohio. After Newt had split the conservative vote!
See post #52.
Figgers. I should have known...
Wrong and wrong. I am confident Santorum would have been a more fiscally conservative President than Romney or Newt and it's my top issue. Why don't you stick to speaking for yourself.
I am disappointed in Santorum for not swinging his votes over to Newt. He should have come out with guns blazing asking for his folks to line up with the Newt and keep up the fight for Conservative Values in America. It would have motivated the base like crazy and the mittster would have had to combat a united not devided Conservative opposition.
If Mitt is the nominee the election is not worth having, waste of money and time. Just give it to odumbi.
Its up to Newt to start a Rebellion in the GOP. Now.
He’s got his chance finally to go one on one with Mitt.
Check out his/her postings from the last couple of days....... yup, sounds just like Pissant in re-tread Drag.
I'll have a look. I'll bet you're right.
Actually, Jedi, Romney has won over 50% in the following races, where he won the indicated number of delegates:
Nevada 50.12% - 14 delegates
Idaho 61.61% - 32 delegates
Mass 73.36% - 41 delegates
Virginia 59.52% - 43 delegates
Guam 100% - 9 delegates
N. Mariana Is. 83.03% - 9 delegates
Amer. Somia 81.43% - 9 delegates
Puerto Rico 88.01% - 12 delegates
Wa. DC 70.22% - 18 delegates
In addition, in the following states he won with a margin larger than Rick and Newt combined, with the delegates shown:
New Hamp 39.08% - 8 delegates
Florida 46.45% - 50 delegates
Main 38.45% - 11 delegates
Arizona 47.99% - 29 delegates
Washington 38.65% - 30 delegates
Vermont 40.84% - 9 delegates
Hawaii 45.38% - 15 delegates
Illinois 46.87 - 44 delegates
Maryland 49.43% - 37 delegates
Wisconsin 44.40% - 33 delegates
That’s 410 of his total delegates from 19 of his 24 wins.
Five wins and proportionality have given him the other 200+ delegates.
So we really cannot say Romney has hardly one a majority ever, or even that in most cases when he didn’t win by a majority that Rick and Newt combined would have beat him. Those are just the facts and the way folks in those states voted.
Newt still has a very outside chance and I will support him in it now that Rick dropped out...but if Romney wins, I will support him over Obama.
I notice you din’t include Michigan, in which Newt almost certainly handed the victory to Romney. If Romney had lost in his home state, and in a very blue state, it would have changed the Dynamic. Ohio was also a crucial state that Newt probably handed to Romney that could have significantly altered momentum.
Good luck with that Romney thing. It will be a cold day in Meca before I vote for that self-described “progressive”.
Message received.
More like check the negative lying ads from Romney/Rick. Americans money used to bring down America - one nation under God.
Satan is the master of lies and he has his pro abortion, pro homo anti-traditional marriage, liberal appointed judges, big gov't pawns - either w/Barry or Romney and satan wants to stay in our WH and offers two different flavors. One nation under satan/evil is what we have had for three years - everything done with an anti-American spirit.
Not rocket science to see satan has deceived many - that his job and he's been at it for over 6,000 years but those drawn to evil cannot learn with their unteachable spirit. Nothing new under the sun.
Romney is getting your vote, newbie, and you have NOTHING to say about it! Those so easily fooled are like puddy in the hands of Mitt/evil - when evil went negative with their lying ads against the only candidate who can revive America, Newt. And you are still puddy in their hands with your comments. Consider yourself duped.
Sounds like NavVet is fighting for his pride. And some remain unteachable where that leads.
You make an idiotic statement like “Newt is the only candidate that can revive America” and then you have the nerve to call someone else unteachable just because they don’t worship in the cult of personality that many on this board have joined.
If the day comes where we depend on someone who sold influence to Freddie Mac, cuddled with Nancy Pelosi on a couch, endorses ultra liberal candidates in Congressional elections, has extra-marital affairs like they come out of a pez dispenser. Calls conservative medicade reform “Right wing social engineering” then we are surely doomed.
Unlike you cultist, I actually first called on Santorum to drop out after SC to maximize Newt’s chances in taking Florida and derailing Romney, then when it became obvious to all but you kool-aid drinkers that Newt was toast, I called on him to drop out and help beat Romney. Of course the egotistical windbag will take his two state victories and tilt at windmills all the way to November, at which point he will become irrelevant again.
Anybody is better than Romney, but anybody who doesn’t think that Newt is a seriously flawed candidate and person is delusional and definitely unteachable. To still be waiving a Newt flag long after he ceased to be a factor is surely an example of pride winning out over logic.
Stand on your soapbox all you want. Newt’s done, and thanks to Newt, Santorum is done and I will let the liberals decide who wins the “progressive run off” in the fall.
Newt-be-wan Kenobi is our only hope. Can he still channel The Force?
” JCBreckenridge 3-10-12 “
LOL! Maybe its the contender from North Carolina—the Breck girl, (J=John) posing as a FReeper?
Who comes in swinging at the last man standing against Romney Ruse? Go figure.
Well done!
One can see you ‘bought’ all the rhetoric that was meant to deceive you. It did the job it was meant to do. How clueless of you to eat the propaganda and then regurgitate it here on FR.
OH, don’t fret. It’s not like it’s YOUR money or YOUR debt.
Hells bells, Hillary tromped all over the place into JUNE, leaving 100 million dollar trail, so don’t fret about Newt.
If you want a debt free campaign, hang your hat on Romney.
He’s already offered to buy Santorum’s debt. Let’s see what happens there, huh?
Newt isn’t selling.
MONEY BOMB TODAY for Newt.
