That didnt take long: Newt Gingrich has humbly asked Rick Santorum supporters to channel their support (read: money) to his campaign.
The Gingrich camp, deeply in debt after dismal performances in recent primary races, released a statement minutes after Mr. Santorums exit from the Republican primary this afternoon, saying, Rick has waged a remarkable campaign. His success is a testament to his tenacity and the power of conservative principles.
I humbly ask Senator Santorums supporters to visit Newt.org to review my conservative record and join us as we bring these values to Tampa, Mr. Gingrichs statement continued. The former House speakers website, like most candidates, puts its funding pitch front and center.

You might as well vote for Obama.
Hey Breckenridge. I think your kid is using your FR account. Might want to log off next time you leave the computer.
You’re a disgusting traitor to the conservative cause and a co-conspirator in the cultural and economic downfall of our nation. I hope you get zotted quickly.
He had a chance to do the right thing months ago and did not. Now the consequence is Romney as the nominee.
Now he wants all of us to flock over? Sorry, no. You said we should vote for the candidate who actually represents us and was in the race to defeat Romney.
Yesterday Newt was telling us to prepare for a Romney nomination. So I’m just listening to what he said then.
He wants us to collaborate with Romney for the good of the party, fine. I’ll happily let him do so on his own time. Not mine.
I think most will.
Today's a very bad day for them, but already a few are crossing over. I watched a lot of die-hard Perry supporters come into Gingrich's camp after he left, which was a big surprise. If they can do it, I think Santorum supporters can too.
We're gonna need all hands on deck to keep the ruling class establishment puppets (Obama and Romney) out of the White House.
Turn in your handle, and find something more liberal. That was a ridiculous statement.
How is that low? Sanatorum spent this weekend reviewing his stats and realized he was going to lose PA, where the voters know him for a fraud.
There’s no reason that Gingrich , who has always been courteous to Santorum, shouldn’t get some votes from this...well, except that most Santorum voters (who are conservative only in social areas) will vote for Romney .
Absolutely. I, for one, am NOT going to let Brit Effin Hume DECIDE WHO MY CANDIDATE WILL BE!!!
Hey Newt! Where were you in MI, OH, AK and WY?
Sorry, you had your chance, but you chose not to endorse Santorum.
So Im not going to endorse you.

Watch out for trolls pretending to be mean spirited.
I’m not a Gingrich fan but I would certainly vote for him over Romney.
Low? He will do whatever it takes to keep Mitt/Obama out of Our House. Weird you would consider that low.
You have my vote, Newt.

Hey newbie! Pipe it down, it’s not about Rick or Newt - it is about our country!
Have the blood on your hands voting for a pro abortion candidate. It doesn't wash off. And a pro homo and anti traditional marriage. Eternity is forever. And then allowing the downfall of our country, one nation under God.

If he has to advertise ‘Conservative’ you can be sure he (Paleo Conservative) isn’t and he just proved it.
This is a primary election, the whole point is to trade votes for the best person. We are talking about delegates here. Everyone who is not for Mitt should rally behind Newt if they feel Newt is a better option.
When the one you support drops out look to those who remain and direct your State’s delegates to pick he who is best.
Newt’s got me. ANYONE except Romney (or Paul).
Hey the Newt supporters aren’t *that* bad.
