Since Newt Gingrich is talking teamwork and cooperation with Romney & Santorum to defeat Obama, would Jim Robinson and conservative Free Republic people join me in accepting and pushing a Romney-Gingrich ticket. Frankly, I bristle at the mention of Romney-Nicki Halley or other RINO tickets. Personally, Romney would be very smart to put conservatives at the table of his campaign and administration team. Newt is so passionate about Big Ideas, reform and he knows how to push the levers of Congress. Mitt Romney can be a good president, however, with Newt on his team, Mitt Romney could be a great president. We need Gingrich's brains and political skill on the ticket and in the administration.
I will vote against Obama.
Then we’ll have our work cut out for us to keep Mitt from selling us the same stuff O was selling, but more competently and at a discount.
Either way, its going to be a long four years.
As I’ve said before, Gingrich would be fantastic as president of the senate. He knows parliamentary maneuvers better than anybody.
Why would you choose the Constitution or Libertarian parties? Their current nominees have pretty much the same negatives as Romney. Libertarian party has Gary Johnson who might as well be a Democrat, pro abortion, pro pot, anti-gun, etc. The Constitution Party has Virgil Goode who up until a few years ago was a Democrat, switched to a Republican when he lost a primary and voted RINO. He is just as liberal as Romney on most issues.
If you are going to go third party, at least choose one that has a Conservative candidate versus trading one liberal for another.
Ditto. Romney is unacceptable.
I voted for the Libertarian candidate in the 2010 Senatorial election in your home state. Remember the candidates?
Voting other than Republican was a first ever for me but I'll do it again if Romney is on the ticket.
We have to either take back the GOP, or form the Conservative Party. Which is the most practical move?
“But many evangelical Christians will vote 3rd party rather than vote Romney. If I understand correctly, they would rather die an unspeakably painful and sinister death than cast a vote for a Mormon.”
Mormon is the new Negro apparently. But then, both demographics are voting about 94% for their respective homie, as that overrides any actual history of governance.
>>>If you vote Libertarian, you will be helping to re-elect Obama.<<<
a) The Liberal traitors in the GOP will have already re-elected Obama by nominating Romney, who is totally unelectable.
b) Even if Mitt could some how beat Hussein, he would be every bit as horrible as Obama. Look at his RECORD not the obvious LIES he started telling it 2007. His is a radical, left-wing Liberal.
Believe me, I find it horribly depressing that we cannot get a real conservative nominated, especially after 2008, but what can we do? Obama is literally the worst thing that could happen to this country.
Sorry, that doesn't work any more, and frankly we're all very tired of hearing it. Go peddle your GOP-e scare tactics somehwere else.
No, the GOP is helping to re-elect Obama by backing such a loser. I aint eatin' my peas, GOP!
“I had one horse in this race, willing to do anything to get her elected, and they destroyed her before she could get to the gate. I would have fought for her to try and make my vote not symbolic. In 2008, I voted for the girl. Now, I’m done.”
Across the nation, you speak for millions.
On a scale of 1 to 10 lets say marxism is a one and conservative is a 10. I would put RINO at about a 5.0 and would rate Romney a 3.5. So on my scale he doesn’t even get to the exalted rank of RINO.
On policy matters Romney is very close to Obama. Both are total liars. Both big government men, both raised taxes, both support the gay agenda ( Romney even more than Obama did) both nominated liberal judges both want ed government controlled healthcare, and on and on.
Obama and a republican senate holds the hope of deadlock and a slowing of the march left. Romney and a republican senate would be a real slouch left given the republicans would not fight their own president.
I cannot vote for Romney in any regard I don’t care who he tags for VP. Him as president is the worst possible scenario for the country and conservatives. (in my humble opinion)
I know that Gingrich has his fans here but let's face it, Gingrich is politically toxic and does not bring anything to the table. In fact, he would be a drag on the ticket as the recent primary results have shown. It's time to end this silly pipe dream of Gingrich finding a way of getting on the ticket.
Don't shoot the messenger, take a look at the recent results for yourselves.
The GOP has been like an abusive husband and conservatives like a battered wife. Hopefully enough of us won’t take it any more and when Romney loses this November the GOP might take a hint that they can no longer take us for granted.
Gosh, I don't know. Let me check that for you...

McCain was at least pro-life and a war hero. But I didnt vote for him, I voted for Sarah. I will not pull the lever for the abortionist/socialist big government RINO Romney. And I dont care who he selects as a running mate. Never again.

Umm, nope. I guess not.
I am inclined to think that the BIG FIX is definitely in.
I don’t see too much discussion here about this issue, but it seems (at least to me) VERY unlikely that enough voters will ignore the mormon issue to elect Romney, let alone whether enough conservatives will “hold their collective noses” and vote for him.
I realize that it is a BIG organization with worldwide activities and influence, but the fact that 40+% of the electorate can still tell pollsters that they support the idiot/criminal/marxist/muslim (take your pick) that presently inhabits the WH, gives me little optimism that ANY of them will vote for Mitt.
Of the remaining 60% give or take undeclared Ob supporters, and declared Ob critics, I think MANY of them will not be able to get past the mormon issue and hence will not vote for Mitt.
I think they picked Mitt just for the very reason - they expect in the end that the mormon issue will doom him to losing to the Dem candidate, regardless of who it turns out to be.
The most depressing aspect about ALL of this is that at best, all we can hope to do is slow the progress towards the inevitable.
The insidious and cancerous growth of political Correctness and “Fairness”/Diversity has doomed this once great country, I fear.
From bus drivers making $100K to firefighters/cops and their obscene comp plans, the public employees financial atrocities, the escapades of our elected representatives, rampant voter fraud and the explosion of Homeland Security’s unconstitutional slamming of our basic rights we have some dreary days ahead.
“Would you eat a $hit sandwich if sugar was sprinkled over it?”
Yes! If it would save my grandchildren. Absolutely!

Remember, I said I live in CA. My vote wont count in the General, and the RNC has made it so it doesn't count in the primaries, judges have made my state initiatives not count.
Obama, Inc is just a more aggressive version of the RNC. I refuse to be the RNC's version of the DNC's Holder's people.
