Would a Romney-Gingrich ticket be acceptable to Jim Robinson & other conservative Freepers? [NO!! ]
[Not only no, but HELL NO!! NEVER AGAIN!! - Jim] | April 9, 2012 | Ralph Mitchell

Since Newt Gingrich is talking teamwork and cooperation with Romney & Santorum to defeat Obama, would Jim Robinson and conservative Free Republic people join me in accepting and pushing a Romney-Gingrich ticket. Frankly, I bristle at the mention of Romney-Nicki Halley or other RINO tickets. Personally, Romney would be very smart to put conservatives at the table of his campaign and administration team. Newt is so passionate about Big Ideas, reform and he knows how to push the levers of Congress. Mitt Romney can be a good president, however, with Newt on his team, Mitt Romney could be a great president. We need Gingrich's brains and political skill on the ticket and in the administration.

I was thinking the same thing.

At this point, I would accept it.

Why even go there; Gingrich not going to take ‘second’ slot. . .

it’s the only possible way I could be anything other than horrified at the ticket.

how bout this - Romney and Gingrich would be not as bad as almost anything else I can think of.

Which room in the White House would be big enough to fit both egos?

I would not go for that unless it was known Romney had a terminal illness!

I think he would. He would be in charge of plenty.

Handle Congress. Handle the message. Handle some of the press. Handle the agenda.

It would be ironic, given whats been speculated here about the other candidates in the race.

Romney is a RINO. But that is better than a Marxist. So whomever Romney chooses for VP is a moot point to me. I have to vote for the RINO to vote against the Marxist.

Any ticket with Romney is a sure fire loser.

The man has all the brains and half the charm of Joe Biden.

That would be one of the two or three really strong tickets I could picture, the other would be one or the other of Romney or Gingrich, and Paul Ryan.

No.

It is the time for conservativves to get behind Newt, because he is the only force that will change the direction of this nomination before it is too late.

He has the best ideas and will outdebate Obama any day off the week. Newt set the table about energy policy last month, taking to to Obama. Romney and Santorum did squat.

Instead of going for the strong, but imperfect Newt, conservatives seem went for the seemingly perfect but weak Santorum.

I want Newt in the game as long as possible, because he will influence the party platform if we can get him to Tampa, and keep Willard from sewing it all up before then.

I cringed when Newt first announced he was running, I didn’t like him.

After Cain dropped out Newt seemed to be the best of bad options. Now, I don’t see any way mittens would accept Newt as running mate.
