CHANDLER, AZ - A teen is in the hospital and another is in custody after a shooting involving a stolen gun in Chandler this morning.
Police at the scene, near Ray and Rural roads, said two 18-year-old men were playing with a gun across from a Circle K.
One of the teens allegedly shot the other in the arm by mistake.
Police said the two ran to the Circle K to get help and left the gun there.
They reportedly told police they were walking near the Circle K and got shot, but police realized the story wasn't adding up and kept asking questions.
Police said the teen that shot the other by mistake confessed to what really happened.
The gun was stolen during a burglary allegedly committed by the teens overnight, according to police.

The writer tries to paint a picture of two innocent ‘teens’, playing with a gun. The reality is closer to: two adult thieves fighting over stolen loot and one gets shot?

This all could have been prevented by outlawing immature and foolish teenagers.
Two adults fighting over a gun.
In this case (because both teens were of the same race) it was an accident.
In the Zimmerman/Martin case, it was alleged to be murder because they were not of the same ‘race’.
Point being, if two people struggle over a gun, the chance that one of them will get shot is very high, even if they ARE friends.

I doubt it. They will be given an education at the Criminal College in the nearest Penitentiary and will likely learn how to keep from shooting themselves with their own guns.
Musta been one of them Glocks with that impenetrable trigger safety. (Before one of you Glockers go off on me, I have a 17, 19, 21 and a 26.....I know all about them.
Stolen gun? Criminals? I imagine they were planning on robbing the Circle K before one managed to shoot the other. Teens? I guess technically, but they are not men either- just thugs.

You can’t throw a rock in the Phoenix area without hitting a Circle K. They are the roaches of the convienence store world here in Az.
Downside: he is almost certainly the product of a deadbeat family and will not medical insurance. He will require extensive medical care. We will pay for it. Our criminal underclass continues to extort an enormous social cost.
