Tyler Perry's April 1 Facebook post about police pulling him over was no April Fool's joke: The highest-paid man in entertainment is accusing a pair of white Atlanta police officers of racial profiling.
Four days later, Perry's post boasts more than 117,000 "likes," 21,000 comments, and 12,000 shares. Atlanta police have launched an internal investigation, E! News reports.
Perry's predicament began when he admittedly made a left turn from a far-right lane -- a trick his security detail taught him, to make sure he wasn't being followed, Perry explained on Facebook.
Two white Atlanta police officers pulled him over, but apparently did not realize they'd just stopped Tyler Perry.

I've never heard of him.
Tyler Perry is, perhaps, the most successful black movie director in history. His movies are hilarious and tend to deal with problems within the Black community such as drugs, poor grades, prostitution, etc.
Until this report, I had a very positive opinion of Mr. Perry.
It’s going to get worse folks. Much worse. The most crime-ridden element in our society has now been informed by the president and his attorney general that hey no longer have to abide by the laws governing the rest of us. Unmitigated hell is about to descend upon our nation.
Surely you know the answer: It depends on how you look and how much you smile.
Edit: Mr. Perry is about as far from a thug as you and I are. Watch any “Madea” movie or “Why did I get married” for a glimpse into his views.
So let me get this straight, Mr. Perry makes an illegal move making a left from the far right lane, and what did Mr. Perry expect to have happen..get a high five for that? He did an illegal move, he deserves a ticket. This is what happens when your famous, you expect everyone to bend over and kiss your ring. The rules only apply to us peasants
He’s usually in drag in most of his movies so why would the average cop know who he is?

I am culturally ignorant, mostly because I refuse to watch movies that employ vulgarity or open sexuality.
> Until this report, I had a very positive opinion of Mr. Perry.
Apparently, he’s just another race-baiting, chip-on-the-shoulder jerk.
>>>The solution is: White people need to become Tyler Perry fans!!!;)
What is his redeeming social value? What does he contribute to the betterment of humanity?
I see illegal left-turns every day. You must make a left turn into the left lane. Not a left turn into a right lane. I remember my Mom almost getting a ticket for that over 55 years ago. Of course the cop just wanted to meet and talk to the stunning redhead driving a T-Bird convert. She got a warning! She always just got warnings!
When this doesn't happen....will you come back and tell us?
Would you like to make a bet....that "Unmitigated hell is about to descend upon our nation" will not happen on us?
How about $5k? Of course...we should have a time line. What time line would you propose?
I'm game to see what you will wager....Give me some terms.
His movies promote morals and values that are appropriate in all cultures, not just black culture. As I said, before this story came out I had a very positive view of Mr. Perry due to his efforts in promoting good, solid morals to a community lacing morals.
As of right now, I am inclined to agree with you, however I will wait until all the facts come to light before making my judgement.
So far I haven’t been caught at it.
Hopefully, if I ever am, it won’t be a female trooper.
;D
Darn, I like his movies. His characters actually believe in God.
How could the cops tell what color he was through the tinted windows?
Watch his movies. He promotes CHRISTIAN morals and virtues in the Black community.
The ignorance of the majority of posters on this thread is staggering. While I understand that this behavior is nowhere near acceptable, Mr. Perry was a very respectable man who made movies that addresses certain issues in the black community.
While this current issue is a very large negative, it still does not outweigh the tremendous positive effects that he, hopefully, has had on the black community. If this behavior continues, however, than he will have solidified this negative reputation.
Medea needs to slap this foo upside his head.
When I moved to Norfolk after marrying a sailor, every time I left the house alone, I got pulled over.
Always got the same answer to my question of “Why?”
“Oh, just to talk.”
My parents thought I was kidding until they followed me down to bring back my stuff when he deployed and a female Norfolk cop pulled my dad over and hit on him.
Weird town; weirder cops.
