Yesterday, Sarah Palin emphasized in her interview with Matt Lauer that whoever becomes the GOP nominee should not play it safe in his selection of a vice presidential running mate. She declined to answer outright whether she thinks this years VP nominee should have more experience on the national stage than she did in 2008, but she did say she thinks the presidential nominee should go rogue with his pick.
Former GOP presidential nominee John McCain backed up those statements today with this:
On CBSs This Morning, McCain, the 2008 GOP nominee, was asked whether he agreed with his former running mate that Romney should go rogue in picking a vice president.
I think it should be Sarah Palin, McCain answered, laughing. And while he did not backtrack from that statement, he did say that there was a wealth of talent in the GOP field, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.
Its an interesting proposition. Shes far more seasoned than she was in 2008, with a loyal fan base that would be incredibly energized by her presence on the ticket. But would she accept? She declined to run for the presidency herself, maintaining that she can have more influence as a media presence than as an actual candidate. If she worried she wouldnt have enough influence as the presidential nominee or the president, then she surely wouldnt be satisfied with the level of influence the vice presidential nomination offers, even if it was her launching pad to the fame she now enjoys.

And..... someone should care what McQueeg thinks, because ....... why?
Works for me.
I am still not convinced that Romney will be the nominee. Kissenger promised China that Jeb Bush would be the president in 2012.
I'd have to think on it.
Kissinger didn’t give a date he just said Jeb Bush would be the next president....
Old Hank?
Is he even part of the RNC?
I don’t have to think about it. I saw how it played out in 08. She learned not to run second fiddle to a rino then anyways. I doubt she is willing to do it again.
nobody listens to what this crazy manchurian candidate thinks...that is why he wasn’t elected.
I hope for a brokered convention and Palin chosen as the candidate.
no one else has her conservatism.
Republican Candidates could improve their Primary vote count by campaigning with the following idea:
Due to the FHA, Fannie and Freddie Bankruptcies of September, 2008, American home owners lost 30 % of the value of their homes. That is a 30 % cut in just one month. Home values are still down 30 %.
Thus, let us cut the total compensation to all elected Federal politicians, and their staffs by 30 %, and an additional 10 % cut to elected Federal politicians each year until Federal Spending is LESS THAN the average of the previous 2 years of Federal income.
BTW, since slightly less than half of the US House, and 2/3 of the US Senate are Millionaires, it will be a great opportunity for Congress to lead by example that EVERYONE should give up their fair share of the American Dream.
What better way can there be to demonstrate that Federal politicians are on the same page as the voters?
Sarah has not declined to run for the presidency, she stepped aside. If Sarah Palin is called to be the Republican Convention nominee, she'll probably take it.
Always the bridesmaid never the bride? They need her to turn up the base for this RINO, so they can place blame again like last time.
Couldn’t imagine Palin even wanting to get near that dead weight to begin with. First thing that would happen is the Romney people would start backstabbing her and using her as a scapegoat for their own sinking campaign.
Signing on with Romney would make Palin a hypocrite. I’d lose a lot of respect for her.
At least McCain had a pro-life record.
hm.. I would vote for Romney is he picked Palin as his VP. But he will never pick Palin.
Correct. Palin said she would help any way she can.
Maybe Sarah Palin could convince Romney to change his mind on some things.
I’d rather see Sarah Palin as president but if vp is all we can get ....
Juan McCain, turned in Hanoi, says nothing anyone needs to hear.
In 2008 we had two Manchurian candidates. One took a dive, The other one is in the White House.
FUJMcC.
And don’t you ever mention Palin’s name again.
Romney will only nominate (if he is actually the nominee) some who does not over shadow him. He is not very bright so the the VP will have to be stupid.
Really?
I mean REALLY???
I think she should BE the nominee, McLame! so there!
