NBC News issued an apology Tuesday for the way it handled the broadcasting of the 911 conversation between George Zimmerman and a police dispatcher in the Trayvon Martin case.
Following reports that NBC aired audio of the call was edited in a way that implied Zimmerman was racist, the network launched an internal investigation.
"During our investigation it became evident that there was an error made in the production process that we deeply regret. We will be taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in the future and apologize to our viewers," the network said in a statement cited

"NBC selectively edited 911 call from George Zimmerman, intentionally and willfully creating a perception that Mr. Zimmerman had called 911 and stated that Trayvon Martin appeared suspicious because he was black. In fact, he never said that, they edited in words from later in the call when he was answering the 911 operator's question about Mr Martin's race.
People can question what happened that evening but the networks, which supposedly operate in the public interest, should not lie and distort in order to incite the public. In fact, NBC has done this three times now. First when they admittedly rigged tests of pickup trucks to imply they exploded, second when they rushed to judgement against Richard Jewel, and now this. Lying about events is not operating in the public interest and should be punished in the most sever manner. Indeed, the FCC should send a message that fair reporting is always welcome but a pattern of egregious lies and distortions will not be tolerated."
fyi...
“Error” my AZZ!
My reading comprehension must have suddenly deserted me - I didn’t see the part of the NBC article where they said they would print the CORRECT conversation between the parties.
This is the reason my TV is off 95+ percent of the time.
“there was an error made in the production process that we deeply regret.”
BULLSH*T..
This was no ‘Error’.
BOYCOTT MSNBC/NBC’s advertisers, and make their lives a living hell until Maddow,Schultz, AND Sharpton are fired!!
Sure is a very strange way to issue a non-apology.
Not shown or mentioned on any NBC site.
What a crock. Lying scum.
Announce the “Error” AND correction, multiple times daily until Zimmerman and they come to a financial agreement....It could take weeks if not months.
“We will be taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in the future and apologize to our viewers,” the network said in a statement cited.”
Sure! Until the next time that they can help a Democratic candidate with their story. I have so little faith in their reporting - okay, geez no faith. They have again and again proven themselves so political correct that they can no longer say that they are reporters. Go away!

Here is the error: They got caught. That’s the only thing they’re sorry about.
If professionalism is a standard, a fake apology is not enough.
Why should I watch a network run by juveniles? If that worked for me, I would watch MTV (if it's still around.)

NBC hates “white Hispanics”. OTOH, they love white black presidents.
“...it became evident that there was an error made in the production process that we deeply regret. We will be taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in the future and apologize to our viewers”
Obviously it was some sort of equipment failure. They will either soon call the technician in to service the faulty equipment or upgrade to newer and less error-prone machines. That’s the ticket.
Freegards
Meanwhile, over at Daily Kos, they are LAUGHING at the very idea that conservatives could mount a Boycott against MSNBC and it’s advertisers. They KNOW we just aren’t that organized.
And NBC knows it, too:
“She said NBC will not be releasing names of the producers involved or the course of action it will take internally.”
TRANSLATION:
“Yeah, we got caught race-baiting our useful idiot followers. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT? NOTHING...”
Someone please forward this to Eric Holder. After a cursory investigation of the facts the Justice Dept is clearly wasting our tax dollars.
