The Washington Post has reported that NBC will be investigating who at NBC was responsible for dishonestly airing a doctored 9-1-1 conversation between George Zimmerman to make it look like Zimmerman's intent was racially motivated.
But, Media Research Center (MRC) Pres. Brent Bozell says this is not enough, so hes calling on NBCs parent, Comcast, to conduct its own investigation.
In a statement released today, Bozell stresses the seriousness of airing an edited tape that might inflame racial tensions and likens NBC investigating itself to Nixon investigating the Watergate tapes.
"This is a massive breach of the public trust. NBC is guilty of dishonestly fanning the flames of racial hatred in America by doctoring tapes. NBC cannot be trusted with the investigation. It's like Nixon investigating the Watergate tapes, Bozell says.
NBCs parent company Comcast needs to investigate the intentional editing of George Zimmermans 9-1-1 call. Comcast needs to come clean. Everyone involved needs to be held accountable."
Bozell also warns against prematurely jumping to any conclusions regarding the Trayvon Martin case, since so many facts remain unknown:
The events leading up to Trayvon Martins death still remain unclear and passing judgment on it -- in either direction -- is unacceptable, said Bozell. We do not know the facts. Its despicable, but expected that the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Maxine Waters would deliberately sow seeds of racial animosity. But it's utterly reprehensible that NBC would give oxygen to this ugly narrative by doctoring tapes and presenting it as 'news.'
FYI
“NBC will be investigating who at NBC was responsible”
yeah, right......
The FCC should revoke NBC’s broadcast license for violating the tenants of its grant.
Lead story on tonight’s Nightly News, no doubt...
If NBC was going to do an “investigation” it would already be done. How long can it possibly take to determine who did what in altering what was said in their own studios with their own employees? No more than a day.
They’re just using the claim to pass time hoping things quiet down and are forgotten...
ALL OF THEM!!!
: )
No more than ten minutes.
1. Who actually did the editing?
2. Was it his/her exclusive decision?
3. Was he/she directed by a superior to do it?
4. If "yes," who?
5. Was the edited segment reviewed by anyone in authority?
6. If no, please report to Human Resources for your termination documents.
7. Write letter of public apology.
Ten minutes is somewhat generous.
NBC will keep announcing that the "investigation" is continuing. This announcement will be used to deflect any criticism of NBC's behavior while it waits for the incident to blow-over and hopefully be forgotten by any of the public that was paying attention. Eventually, many, many months from now, NBC will quietly announce that it found no irregularities and that will be the end of it -- they hope. NBC will say some minor "error" or "misunderstanding", or "miscommunication" occurred and no one is to blame.
Most of the media did! Look at the reporting compared to the facts. And that picture of a very young boy that they are still showing today when doing a piece on the thing. Look at the picture they show of Zimmerman.
The first story I read said that Zimmerman said ‘These f*&(ing coons they always get away. That is not true, but it was repeated several times. Listen for yourself.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9A-gp8mrdw&feature=player_embedded
There are accusation of profiling, but not one bit of proof. When you listen to the tapes, there is no profiling.
