....as I type this am sending my daughter and granddaughter on their way back home. They stayed over this past Friday and Saturday nights, daughter mowed my lawn, helped me move stuff, as adult children do for their ageing parents from time to time.
...We went shopping and I bought them both some Easter clothes, especially my daughter, who could be a fine subject on “What Not to Wear” though understand, I do love her.
She thoroughly believes that Trayvon Martin was shot for nothing else but being black. I did everything to change her mind but she stood her ground. “Mom, you’re not going to convince me of anything else but that George Zimmerman was a nut doing what he shouldn’t a been doing. What’s he doing out and about and looking for bad guys.”
I was shocked and asked her when it became illegal to go looking around your neighborhood that all is at peace and how it ought to be, that there are neighborhood watch programs across the fruited plains, that we have our own impromptu and loose neighborhood watch program right here in my block. She was so taken aback at the notion that people are doing something so darn politically incorrect as to be watching for evil around them that might harm them and theirs.
She’s not a stupid girl, folks. But she’s a busy Mom running hither and yon, her cats just had kittens, kid is on Easter vacation next week, mother-in-law just lost her husband of 48 years, baby shower for sister-in-law coming up next week....busy....time to quickly watch the news.
She saw that video on Huffington Post that she sad had Zimmerman without a single scratch on him....she KNOWS that Trayvon, that cute little kid which is the only picture she saw of him, was killed just for being black.
Folks, this is how they get out there and while the truth is still putting its pants on the lies multiply and spread across the planet.
This is how they win the debate. The make up fiction and soon we are all arguing THEIR version of events.

She needs to get the idea of color as "cause and effect" in the proper perspective.
If Zimmerman wanted to shoot the kid...he just would have shot him...no call, no info....and walked away.
Well, you told her the other facts; the truth, and she chooses not to believe you.
Kids can be like that. The more you counter them, the more they oppose you.
All you can do is keep at it. At least now she knows there’s another side.
I think and hope that this Trayvon thing will die down because there is no information coming out.
I’ve been on so many threads and I think we now know all there is to know until there is a trial or some kind of official inquiry.
I don’t argue politics with my adult children. My daughter is (thankfully) very conservative although married to something of a liberal and my son is kinda liberal, though he does have some sense.
An armchair psychologist once told me this. Allow me to pass it on, garbled though it may be.
A strong personality is likely to beget a strong personality. But SP 2 cannot express itself in the shadow of SP 1, except by distinguishing itself sharply. Thus we find children in contrast to parents, and younger siblings in contrast to older siblings. Before they build their external fortresses, they build their interior ones.
Trust that when your daughter grows up (age 50 perhaps) she will have found not only the wisdom, but the self-confidence to come around to your way of thinking. :)
Fortunately for us here in Floriduhhhh we do have one of the finest state policing organizations anywhere in the country aka The FDLE—Florida Department of Law Enforcement. They an elite group made up of law enforcement professionals. Only the top of the top are accepted from other Florida law enforcement agencies both sheriffs and city depts. across the state and the best of the best USA wide. If the FDLE is running the investigation instead of the FBI,I really don’t know, we are in good hands. The country is in good hands. If the politicats at the FBI are running it anything can happen.
She’s just being a good liberal, it is her religion. She believes America is racist and this just proves it so her stand makes her non racist as opposed to you and the rest of America.
It also goes to her anti-gun and anti-vigilante beliefs. You will not convince the braindead but many are starting to understand the ugly truth of the liberal media lies. Check the polls and you will see a huge shift towards Zimmerman acting in self defense.
