From the Empire State Building in New York, to the Eiffel Tower in France, to Wat Arun Buddhist temple in Thailand, cities, businesses, governments and millions of people are standing together in a collective display of commitment to protect our planet. Will you be among them?

I urge everyone to turn on every light, every tv, every computer, every radio - use as much energy as is humanly possible for that hour! If you can get a picture of it upload it to these idiots!
Same here. Our porch light is off 95% of the time. Tonight we’re turning it on - along with all the rest of the lights in the house!
Why not 8 or 9?
What dope picks 8:30?
I’;m certain some cities will make a statement by turning off major buildings etc. But that really only represents that who ever is Mayor supports global warming.
Will all the leftist mainstream media news networks be off the air? Why not?
In a very odd mood today...
Sorry, No. I refuse to align myself with the darkness of this world.
Thats for sure!

This also “World Backup Day”.

If I turn off all of my electricals while my complete HD backup is running (and I am observing it just in that way right now), it will ruin my backup.
No electric lights of any kind will be permitted, so just wrap an oily rag around a stick to make a nice torch to light your way.
Do they really believe restaurants, groceries, theaters, shopping centers, retail businesses et al will be turning off their lights? They’ll all be open at this time. I can’t wait for the lawsuits to begin when customers sue for the damage and harm committed during that time.
If I were to walk into a restaurant and be told that at 8:30 the lights would be turned off during my dinner, I’d walk out after a not-so-nice comment about their ‘not holding your breath’ waiting for my return.
Not only do all switches need to be on to show your support,
But going to the garage, wheeling out the chipper shredder,
The two riding lawn mowers,
The two roto tillers,
The tractor,
The standby generator,
Both motorcycles,
The leaf blower,
The trimmer/edger, Both trucks,
and starting them all as a salute to fossil fuel.
Heck, most likely I will have a few beers as well, to celebrate diversity.
George Carlin on human self importance (naughty but right on)...

Light a candle, you can contribute to global warming instead.
I LOVE the annual celebration of Earth Hour.
It really brings out the ornery streak in FReepers....LOL!
Sorry, I’ll be working (because millions on welfare depend on me) at that time via VPN; no can do with out the electrons...
