Just saw a video on tv showing him just after the supposed pounding his head took. Barely bleeding,,,just a few drops. If his head was being continually pounded into the cement as he claims, I think he would have been knocked unconcious and bled some more.
How severe Zimmerman’s injuries were is irrelevant. If he was jumped and knocked to the ground and hit repeatedly especially if it was unprovoked, and the last time I checked asking someone what they wanted and why they were walking around the neighborhood is not exactly a reason for someone to beat your ass, then he had a right to defend himself. There are still witnesses and the tape of him yelling for help.
Is there some law that you have to be severely injured before you can use deadly force to defend yourself?
I say let the investigation take place ...i mean the THIRD investigation considering two Police chiefs already reviewed it and didn’t see evidence for an arrest.
And looking at a grainy surveillance video taken when? Is not the full picture.
Zimmerman’s dad just gave an interview saying GZ’s nose was broken. I’m sure there is a medical report and photos of this. You just don’t lie about something like that. You would definitely have proof your nose was broken.
You mean that video of him AFTER the paramedics treated him and cleaned him up at the scene?
Use some common sense. Assume he was knocked unconcious. How long would he have been unconscious and how long after was this video? Broken noses don’t always bleed, and they do stop bleeding. Can you tell if he has anything gauze or something stuff up his nostrils? The only thing I’ve heard tonight that might be out of the ordinary is the officers at the station were not using gloves so as to not further contaminaint the clothing.
They always do. The question is only how many other people they manage to take down with them.
Thank you! I’m getting tired of correcting people on the point that Zimmerman was told not to follow.
He's a "dead man walking". Can't show his face on the streets, would last maybe 5 minutes in jail or prison unless isolated.
"He screwed up."
That has yet to be proven with other factual and relevant evidence.
Fact: He wasn’t performing his duties as a neighborhood watchman, he was on a personal errand. The police even cleared him of this supposed allegation of yours.
Fact: You don’t have the first clue about who made “contact” first or how it even went down. So, like many others have attempted to do, you’re trying to pass off speculation as “fact”.
What we do know for a “fact” is that eye witness testimony places Martin on top of Zimmerman, beating the crap out of him.
Everything and anything else that is not supported with FACTUAL and RELEVANT information is pure conjecture and speculation. Which seems to be a favorite hobby of many around here.
Any attempt by any FReeper to inject reason into this is met with it.
IOW, you appear to have mistaken me for someone who doesn’t give a $hit about the rule of law.
You have a point, but my point was my opinion...Based upon the results of his (Zimmerman’s) actions, there is no dancing around the subject that a person lost their life due to “his” diligence, or whatever you want to call it...
These were accidents waiting for an intersection to happen...
AS I have said before, having a CCW in a state that has a “no duty to retreat” law in place DOES NOT WARRANT OR COMMISSION YOU TO ENFORCE, INVESTIGATE OR DETAIN another actor you suspect of criminal intent or be caught in the act of committing a crime...
There are provisions in some state laws that do allow for third party intervention up to and the use of deadly force if you reasonably believe it is immediately needed to stop that crime...
That’s why I believe Zimmerman screwed up...He may have been right to be in contact with lawful authority, but you have to realize, once you do that the situation becomse fluid real fast, and if you are in pursuit or following a suspect, and are told to disengage, I would highly recommend you do so...
That CCW license does not give you anything but protection under the provision of that states law to carry in public a firearm for lawful self-defensive purposes...It is not something that you should intend to be using (in any other capacity) unless it is absolutely necessary...
Zimmerman did do something right though...He observed, and gave Law Enforcement the information needed for them to do their “commissioned” job...
He’ll end up like Joe Horn here in Texas who used to live not too far from us when he stopped two burglary suspects on their way out of his nieghbors house carrying the nieghbors valuables...He was no-billed by a Grand Jury, which is what Zimmerman is going to have to answer to...
I am eager to see the outcome of this...And the facts to be made public...
Wasn’t Zimmerman WARNED not to follow Martin by the police dispatcher?
No, he was told, “You don’t need to do that [follow him].”
Why did Zimmerman choose not to take that advice?
Why does it matter?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Actually if you listen to the 911 tape you can hear the wind as if Zimmerman was running. When the dispatcher tells him he doesn’t need him to follow, the wind stops. Zimmerman returned to his truck and Martin confronted him there.
Understood, thanks for clarifying your position.
CORRECTION: George Zimmerman WAS arrested! He was taken to the Police Station by force, in HANDCUFFS. He was RELEASED when the police realized they had no basis to hold him!
1 - Why didn't the MSM go all out and release this
2 - Anybody have an idea when Nobama will announce a 'Skittles Summit'...?
He had the same right as the thug in the hoodie.
The hoodied thug is indefensible.
Sidwell is to prevent Malia from meeting Trayvon or his equivalent.
