As Dick Cheney recovers from heart transplant surgery, questions are being raised about whether the former vice president is too old for a new heart.
Cheney, 71, who received the new heart Saturday at a hospital in Falls Church, Va., has been on the cardiac transplant list for more than 20 months.
Some medical centers will not perform a heart transplant on patient over 65, but other major centers will perform transplants on patients who are as old as 72.

No need to spread filthy lies. Jobs did not “jump the transplant queue” he moved to a state with a short waiting list than CA because he could.

Whether Cheney has a heart transplant or not is noone’s business except the Cheney family and his doctor.

Dick Cheney was not pushed to the front of the line; he waited 20 months. I’m glad for him. He served our country well in both business and politics. He’s a fine man.

Amen.I just adore this man. For all the abuse he took in
defense of our nation, he deserves the best. I,too wish for
him many years to enjoy his family,watch his grandchildren
grow and do some fly-fishing. And if he has enough energy
to occasionally give his opinion on things and torture the
left, that would be the extra gravy!
You know, doesn’t his years of public service count for anything? The stress he was under post-9/11 probably knocked 10 years off of his life without a transplant. Given his health history, he could have told everyone to go !@#@#$@#$@# and just retire.
Note also, everyone has observed how the Presidents always seem to very visibly age while in office.
If Obama were in the same spot in the future after he is out of office (soon, I hope), I would extend him the same benefits, and gladly pay the taxes on it. Because the office and the holders of that office deserve it.
Many people who are running for office on both sides are either at that age where they can retire and/or are wealthy to the point where they are probably losing gobs of money while in public office. They are certainly losing a significant part of the remainder of their lives and those lives and the lives of their immediate families will never be the same. They don’t HAVE to do this.
The libs are just jealous because Cheney is more important than they are, plain and simple.

Oh, there were complaints about Jobs...given his personality, I wondered if the person who he got the liver from was actually done using it at the time it was donated.
I hope the conservatives are keeping record of “all” the remarks from the left so they can actually “prove” there will be death panels in O’Blarney’s health care plan.
Commonsense should tell the senior citizens if the media and the democrats don’t want Cheney to have a heart because of his age they’re NOT going to OK a heart.... or anything else for the elderly when government is in charge of the decisions!

I’ll go you one better. I bet there’s a team of reporters finding out exactly who’s heart Cheney received. Even though it’s supposed to be anonymous and protected by HIPAA. And the family will be asked how they “feel” about man like Cheney getting such a precious gift, Halliburton, torture...mumble...evil...mumble mumble...etc.
