Rep. Paul Ryan won’t close door on VP slot
The Hill ^ | March 24, 2012 | Ben Geman

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Sunday left the door open to becoming his party’s vice-presidential candidate.

“I just don’t know the answer to your question,” he said on Fox News Sunday when asked if he would accept a request to be the vice presidential candidate.

“It is not a bridge that I have even come close to crossing. It’s a decision that somebody else makes in a long time from now,” Ryan added about the possibility that the party’s eventual presidential nominee might ask him to join the ticket.

Ryan repeatedly emphasized that he’s focused on steering his recently introduced budget plan through Congress, but certainly didn't rule out the idea of an eventual VP nod.

Dan Conry just discussed this topic on WISN (Dan is great and is on 2-5pm every Sunday AM 1130).

There was lots of enthusiasm on the radio show for Paul Ryan as a VP selection.

I know people who will vote for you know who IF Ryan is his VP pick.

Getting Ryan in as VP,,,sets him up to be one of the finest presidents history when his chance comes.

Made me feel all warm and fuzzy when Dan and guests were speculating about Ryan as VP.

But the big showstopper is the fact that Rubio is not a natural born citizen.

Yes he is and no one cares about your theories on the matter.

Showstopper. LOL.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see WI turn red in the November election. The unionistas have awakened a sleeping tiger.

Public speculation about his potential for Veep consideration would, in a sane world, bring attention to Obummer’s lack of natural-born citizenship. And if he was not qualified four years ago...

Wow....that is a great observation. If his N-B-C status is questioned, that would open up a demand for show of proof that Obama is a N-B-C.

Paul Ryan could end up being James Kirk or end up being Peyton Manning; it’s his call.

Cheney was from Wyoming. Not exactly a lot of people living there. :)

Yes he is and no one cares about your theories on the matter.

So the Constitution is "theoretical" for you? Why are you here?

And the bolded part doesn't make a damn bit of difference IN THE EYES OF THE LAW which is all that matters....not some shut-in on an internet forum's theory on the matter.

some shut-in on an internet forum's theory on the matter.

So you've only been an "internet shut-in" since 2004? LOL

You either stand for the Constitution, or you don't. Are you new to this NBC issue? Maybe you should set aside your prejudices, or your love for Rubio (I like him too) and try to see this from the Founder's viewpoint.

Many of you have asked about how the Minor v. Happersett definition of natural born citizen effects the eligibility of Mitt Romney and Marco Rubio to be President. First, let me reiterate that the Constitution should be applied to everyone equally. So, if Mitt, Marco, or anyone else meets the definition of Natural Born Citizen, they meet the minimum Constitutional qualifications to serve as President. If they don’t, they don’t.

The definition of Natural Born Citizen, as defined by the Supreme Court, has two elements: 1) you must be born in the U.S.; 2) both of your parents must be citizens of the U.S. at the time of your birth. If both of these elements are fulfilled, you are a Natural Born Citizen. Assuming Mitt was born in the U.S. and both of his parents were U.S. citizens at that time, then he is a NBC. I’ve been told, but don’t know for sure, that Marco was born here, but that his parents didn’t naturalize until Marco was 14 years old. If this is true, then Marco Rubio can never be a Natural Born Citizen. He can be a Senator, his children could be President, but Marco doesn’t meet the minimum Constitutional qualifications to be President. This means that he can’t be VP either.

Understand that this is a Constitutional matter. It has nothing to do with the experience, value, or skills of the individuals. Our Constitution simply says that you must meet the Natural Born Citizen requirements or you cannot be President.

Your interpretation of it is, chief. Do yourself a big favor and stick to Obama's eligibility questions and stop doing DNC grunt work.
