Just moments ago on the Sean Hannity radio show, GOP candidate and RINO Rick Santorum took it upon himself to convict George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case. He said, and Im paraphrasing slightly:
It was a heinous crime and he did a despicable, unjustifiable thing and the Sanford police should have reacted to that immediately.
Again, I am paraphrasing a little as I did not have a recorder running to get his exact words, but that was essentially his statement.

No, he didn't. Newt drew the assumption that Stand Your Ground doesn't apply here, and insinuated this was a matter of Zimmerman stalking.
Whereas the open question is, did Trayvon Martin assault Zimmerman, and did Zimmerman respond with deadly force in response to that assault and had fear for his life or well-being that justified deadly force?
Newt did OK until he passed judgement on Zimmerman.
When Newt was answering Piers’ biased question about Stand Your Ground he went into details of the case. He shouldn’t have. That having been said what Newt said was far far far better than what Santorum said. To go so far as to call the incident a “crime” is ridiculous.
I just watched, thanks— he did handle it better but the Police Chief wasn’t suspended.
Gingrich did comment but then backed off by saying they don’t have all the facts and did defer to the rule of law.
I will take back jackwad but I am still not completely happy with his comment. I still love Newt but this wasn’t one of my favorite moments.

Gingrich wasn’t ‘fired’ as Speaker of the House and he didn’t appreciate people claiming such, I should think he owes this Police Chief an apology.
Have you never been introduced to the concept of forgiveness?
It’s not new. Anyone can try it. Some religions even require it. It is a central principle of Christianity. Just so you know.
None. All the players are already entrenched.
Same modus operandi was at play in the false story about TEA Party members (or even infiltrators in the crowd) shouting "nigger" at a couple of congressmen. Total fabrication, fiction, published as fact (using the magic word, "alleged") by the media; and as far as I know, the false narrative still lives.
A finding that Zimmerman was justified will be described as "incendiary," rather than as a good call. The media will downplay the facts as it builds its false narrative.
Krauthammer pointed out that Zimmerman has a Peruvian mother (i.e. half Hispanic.) Therefore, he is as much Hispanic as Obama is black. Al Sharpton will explain the significance of this.
Personal freedom includes personal choice. I choose not to ignore past indicators of a lack of control and disregard of commitments....but...that's just me."
What are you talking about, "forgive Obama and maybe he will repent?" Newt HAS repented, HAS found Christ, and HAS been forgiven. Make some sense, please.
So, what you're saying is that even though Newt HAS been forgiven by God, you refuse to do so. I will assume from your stance that you are not a Christian, or that you're under the impression you're the second perfect person to walk the earth who never needed redemption.
They must be secretly cursing Rick for making their job so difficult.
They must be secretly PRAISING Rick for making their job so Necessary .Job security when he is on the stump.
I could not even listen to Hannity’s little waaah waaah Trayvon is dead whine fest today.
If I was Zimmerman, I’d be suing both him and beck and every news organization at this point.
A two-time cheater, just as a Death Row inmate minutes before execution, "finds Religion".
Character is such that a willow tree never grows up to be an oak.
Deal with it.
I was married to the same person for “56” years, that still does not qualify me to throw the first stone.
Point out my claim that you aren’t allowed your choice of candidates.
So the Lord can forgive, but who is He, right? He’s not Traditional1.
I understand what you mean about “character”. A brief perusal of your posting history says so much.
Not sure what the "gotcha" is. I don't see why Santorum has to comment one way or the other about this case unless he wants to blast the Justice dept for getting involved -- then that's OK.
I barely listen to him any longer...far too emotional and frustrated. That makes him boorish and really repetitive. Rush too but not quite as bad.
Rush often gives me an interesting perspective I missed on my own.
PS, cool screen name.
Just another one of Santorum’s deeds/acts/speechs... that sounds just like Obama. But that’s okay, cause he’s *OUR* guy, right?
Or has the collective amnesia made everyone forget Obama and the Gates arrest?

I take no prisoners and speak my mind (since 1964), and here on FR since 1998.
Political Correctness isn't my thing, nor is ignoring FACTS already in Evidence in regards to past performance, personal responsibility, and being "forgiving and compassionate" got this country into its sorry state, today. Think "used" or "taken advantage of", and you MIGHT get the picture.
Dream on.
This an extremely Hot potato. Both Newt and Santorum needs to handle with care. Could leave a nasty burn in the General election.
Funny thing, that, eh? Damned if you do, damned if you don't? Seem to be seeing an awful lot of that around here since the Commies made their move and put one of their own in the White Hut.
There are as many intolerant fascists in this place now as there are on the DUmp. March to my drummer or you're a "bleeding liberal", or you're "not conservative enough". Sad.
Nevertheless, I take great comfort in knowing that once this divisive SOB is kicked out of WDC our conservative brethren (mostly) will relax a little and the acrimony around here will recede a bit. But the DUmmies will always be...well, DUmmies!
I have long forgiven Newt. I am not the One Whose forgiveness counts, however. It appears that many people have. However, it also appears that most do not trust him any longer, which is not the same thing. Would you allow a forgiven child molestor to work unsupervised in a day care center?
