Current and former neighbors call George Zimmerman caring, passionate and polite, a regular guy they enjoyed being around...
"The portrayal of George Zimmerman in the media, as well as the series of events that led to the tragic shooting, are false and extremely misleading," his father, a retired magistrate judge, wrote in a letter published in the Orlando Sentinel. "Unfortunately, some individuals and organizations have used this tragedy to further their own causes and agendas."
"George is a Spanish-speaking minority with many black family members and friends," Robert Zimmerman wrote. "He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever."

wanton, cold-blooded murder
is what the Islamist did to the little girl.
Shooting someone out of desperation because you’re on the ground getting a beat down by a huge teenager is not “wanton, cold-blooded murder”.
Getting into the situation that led to the shooting was absolutely stooooopid, but it wasn’t “wanton, cold-blooded murder”.
Pretty quick to jump to conclusions without any knowledge of the facts, except some msm rants and a couple of women that told us what they think might have happened.
So you are going to be the objective one to "PROTECTOURFREEDOM" ?
You're exactly right. 0b0z0's Brown Shirts completed their training last year and are ready to hit the streets once a couple of bad polls confirm that 0b0z0s reelection is in doubt.
Watch for union thugs, flash mobs of "unknown race," black panthers and OWS who are protected by H0lders D0J to start the violence that would reelect 0b0z0 without an election.
It could well be that he was on drugs and that is why he was acting strange. My guess the liberals know something that hasn't been released yet and the hoped for race war case is going to fall apart.
Fast and Furious didn’t work, so the left chose this incident to replace it. They want your guns.
Zimmerman shot someone to death who was beating him and had a violent history.
We've got two versions of the story. The first coming race baiters and people who were not present. One which says this is cold blooded murder, because the shooter is a virulent racist. The second version comes from witnesses, the police and news outlets outside the community. That one says the shooter was being attacked by a person, some might say thug, with a history of violence and confrontation.
Looking at the story presented, the facts displayed so far and the sources, I know which I am more inclined to believe.
See how national outrage can be ginned up over a small incident which may quite likely be justified self-defense? Zimmerman shooting Trayvon Martin is not a unusual case, really, but the Elite are treating it in a special way. Why?
Remember last year when a lot of flash mobs appeared and robbed stores?
Remember the OWS crowds in many major cities? Peaceful, right?
Remember how the crowds in Athens tried to burn the city down? Not so peaceful, huh?
What happens if these tactics are combined? All of these tactics can be useful if the Power Elite need a crisis either leading up to a November election, or perhaps a crisis subsequent to a heart-breaking Nov election loss. The political manipulators need to make sure they know how the buttons can be pushed. They are testing the machine.
A Scenario:
On July 25, a shooting takes place in NYC and a young black man loses his life.
National outrage begins to build. This is easy. Its a replay of Trayvon Martin. The talking heads know the script, and they will pump up the masses to be furious that such a thing could happen in America. By Aug 1 the outrage is sweeping the country.
People begin flocking to NYC. They occupy Central Park. Thousands of them. Its a peaceful protest, at least in the beginning, but there are a heck of a lot of angry people camping out in NYC. Again, this is easy. Major Bloomberg knows how to handle such a crowd. He did it last year. Food, water, port-a-potties, a light police presence. No big deal.
On Aug 8, groups of individuals wander away from Central Park. Not together. They travel separately. This is not even noticeable. Suddenly, a flash mob descends on a store on Bleeker St and robs it. Twenty people rush in, smash the glass, take stuff and vanish. Simultaneously, similar robberies take place in 10 other NYC locations. This is not hard to pull off. ACORN knows how to make this happen. Twitter, Facebook, other technologies can coordinate these activities and there is no way to block it.
Tension grows in the city. The flash mobs cannot be linked to the Central Park crowd, but the authorities suddenly are thrown off script. What do they do? Crack down? On whom? Why? Wheres the evidence? Suddenly the mayor is in uncharted waters, the protesters are feeling victimized, the racial shooting is both hyped up and pushed off the front page things get ugly.
And then 3000 people start burning NYC. Just like in Athens. The peaceful protest gets real ugly overnight. They know how to do that. We dont know how to react to it.
Im saying that this script has been written. The moves have been practiced. The timing and the location may not be finalized, but I think this is typed up and stored on someones hard drive. And the hard drive is somewhere in the White House.
They can greenlight it prior to the election, or after the election, it all depends on how theyre feeling about Obamas chances. I say martial law will be imposed by Obama. The election may not matter.
As I remember the Jewell case the significant problem for him was that the press that had him tried and convicted before the facts were in.
Is that helpful?
Zimmerman shot someone to death after deciding to assault a teenager returning from a walk to the store.
That so many FReepers decide to defend someone who was looking for trouble is troubling. Zimmerman is not a hero of the 2nd Amendment. That so many FReepers are quick to label any black person as a thug or a "hood rat" is a disgrace.
And characterizing the "hispanic" Zimmerman as "white" in order to, as another poster stated, re-stir the pot of white guilt before the election.
No, it’s still a poor analogy. Again, Jewell didn’t do anything. No one lay dead because of his actions.
Is that helpful?
And also the Nation Guardmen at Kent State.
Do you believe everything the media tells you or have you taken the time to read the police reports and have listened to the 911 calls?
Hey Dave,
You’ve obviously only listened to the media and have not read the police reports or listened to the 911 calls. Time for you to stop drinking the Flavor-Aid and start using your own mind instead of blindly joining the mob mentality!
Answer me this: what caused Zimmerman such consternation upon seeing a person walking through his neighborhood?
Like many FReepers, he was sure that any black person, especially one with a hoodie on, must be a criminal. So he went out to confront the person and then ended up shooting him.
Sorry, I can’t defend any of that.
I'm not rushing to label anyone, but I have to say that the old White Guilt thing doesn't work on me.
If a large number of Americans think of blacks as thugs, I'd say that the behavior of a large number of blacks is a contributing factor. If black people would clean up their ghetto culture and actually try to assimilate into mainstream society, they might find far fewer people thinking of them as thugs.
That's not a comment about Trayvon Martin, but a general comment about America in 2012.
Jewel actually was credited with saving lives - because he found a bomb and alerted the police. He was first accused of a hoax and after being exonerated he sued the media for libel and slander. His atty was Lin Wood.
It’s ironic that those of us who feel Zimmerman was over-reaching are ‘rushing to judgement’ and those who believe Trayvon deserved to be shot ‘have all the facts’.
I think a more likely senario is Zimmerman began following the teen who resented being followed by a obviously to him bigoted person. He confronted him. So far, no problem, Zimmerman is within his rights to follow anyone on a public street he wished to since not being in law enforcement he can profile. Confronting someone following you is also not a threat either. Now is when the plot thickens. Did Zimmerman say something to in flame the teen? We will never know. Did the teen begin pummeling him, well, some alleged evidence points to that. If so, case closed as far as criminality.
Next up the civil case which will not go well for Zimmerman and perhaps the homeowners association who tacitly approved of his acting as an untrained square badge.
All IMHO of course.
The current situation is summarized below:

You haven’t taken the time to read the police reports or listen to the 911 calls have you?
