Rick Santorum's latest attempt to use a Mitt Romney aide's "Etch-A-Sketch" remark against the Republican front-runner instead gave his rival a chance to fire back on Thursday, after Santorum seemed to say he'd rather see President Obama reelected than send Romney to the White House.
Speaking at an event in Texas, Santorum again made the case that Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom's comments Wednesday on CNN about a "reset" of the campaign if Romney clinched the nomination showed the former Massachusetts governor's efforts to appeal to conservatives were insincere.
"You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there," Santorum told a crowd in San Antonio, according to NBC News. "If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch-A-Sketch candidate of the future."

Romney, Newt and RS are very uninspiring to say the least. Many months ago I didnt think Newt should be helping Obama either when he pulled that OWS ‘Romney got rich laying off workers’ stuff. I was glad when he stopped it.
It seems as candidates they should be telling us how they will beat Obama, not how they will get Obama re-elected.
And Romney would be worse than Obama for us in some ways but I dont want them saying it.
How is it possible that we see such tremendous variance, including direct opposition on many key issues, between elected Mormon, if they’re just all doing what their church tells them to do?
I don’t doub that they listen to their church on matters of faith (as do most poeple), but any insinuation that their political stands are directed by the Mormon Church is just buried by objective evidence to the contrary.

Yes, I know exactly what he will do because I know Mormonism inside and out. And I have seen how the LDS church controls its members and uses them for political gain. Even, Bob Bennett, whom many consider conservative, did what the LDS church told him to, regardless of any personal convictions to the contrary.

How you do you know he has done zip?! A lot of politics are backroom deals and hidden. Even his pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, socialism etc is a reflection of his Mormonism (and I can give you examples of Mormon changes in those areas).

I’d prefer Santorum with all his faults than smug, slick Romney who will say anything to get the nomination and then reverse himself in the belief it will get him elected. Obama’s team is already getting the Etch-a-Sketch ads ready for the general campaign. That and “I’m not concerned about the poor”. When it comes to foot in the mouth, Romney doesn’t take a back seat to anyone.

you could also turn this comment around and say that the crowd is so anti- Romney that they would vote for Obama. (staying home is a vote FOR Obama)
People have died so that we can vote. to not exercise our vote is un -American.

The answer is “as president I am loyal to the USA and any actions I take as president is only for the good of the USA”, as an individual, any actions I take is for the good of my family and God.
I agree completely...a great deal could happen between now and the Republication nomination.
To be candid, I think there are too many entrenched RINOs in Washington who fear Newt’s intelligence and resolve.
Newt proves he is THE man for the job each time he gives a liberal debate moderator a history lesson or a subtle right-cross when the moderator asks a irrelevant question.
The answer to my prayers for the country I love is for Newt to be the Republican nominee for president and that his first words after being nominated are, “Former Governor Sarah Palin has agreed to be my running mate.”
If that occured, I’m sure there are many legislators in Washington who have “Rs” after their names who would wet themselves.
