What was Santorum thinking in wasting time in Puerto Rico instead of grinding it out in Illinois? Illinois is much more pivotal for Santorum than PR ever would be.

"Glad to see that a Romney win brings you such pleasure. " Anybody but Santorum.

You support who you want, it's still a free country. For a while anyway.

Puerto Rico was critical to stopping Romney. Every political strategist knew that.

If you had looked at my posts, or the threads I’ve started you’d see that I hate Romney and the establishment.

Great because Romney will ensure we keep Obamacare and lose the greatest healthcare in the world. Some of these people like Mariner who just replied to me "Anybody but Santorum" might see that too late.

When someone in their family can't get a test done or a procedure when their life hangs in the balance, they might see how much was at stake in this election.

Every time, I see one of these polls and Newt Gingrich is in third place, it boggles the mind to see the country this un-informed of how desperately we are in need of changing how the government works. Speaker Gingrich is not even in the same class as the other 3 candidates. This entire thing is hard to watch and especially to see the light weight former senator to be put in 2nd seat to stop this liberal Romney. Neither can beat one another and what does that say.
We need Newt back in front.

yet it looks like Romney is kicking his teeth in.

In Illinois, which neither is going to win in November anyway. It's the Land of BO, and the corrupt Chicago machine, along with a host of radical groups which originated there, but have gone nationwide.

This is a just a reflection of the politics of Illinois, having very little to do with the "he said, he said" of the immediate campaign. It will affect the delegate count though, but Illinois is not a winner take all state, in fact the voters vote directly for 54 of 69 delegates, the other 15 are to be picked by the party convention in June. So you'd have to look at the distribution of those "preferences" If a candidate's support is concentrated in a few districts, he could actually end up with a lower percentage of the delegates than of the popular vote for the candidate.

by having two 'conservative' candidates, you might have a better chance of attracting away some of Romney's and Paul's voters. Those who wouldn't vote for Santorum, on social issues, might go for Newt instead of Romney. Those who won't vote for Newt on personal behavior, might go for Santorum instead of Romney. People who like the fiscal polices of Paul, might not like his foreign policy and would vote for Newt.

This is the primary, not the general election, when the time to really hit the Obama economy with be ripe.

that Newt gets enough votes to pick up delegates, while at the same time, depriving Romney of delegates, but not Santorum.

Doesn't matter if he takes some from Santorum, as long as he takes enough from Romney. It's the Newt+Santorum total that needs to be enough to have Romney not get 50% + 1 of the delegates.

And yet all the media talks about is one probably bad shoot in Miami.

What question? So typical. Say something you can’t back up, and then make another ridiculous statement. Run away and hide indeed. Pathetic little worm.

Don’t accuse people of things you can’t back up.

Well, by my count, he’s not taken delegates from Romney, He’s cost Santorum significant delegates. Lost in MI, OH, WA, WY and AK were all winnable but became close wins for Romney.

What delegates has he actually cost Romney at this point? Florida was WTA.

“two ‘conservative’ candidates, you might have a better chance of attracting away some of Romney’s and Paul’s voters.”

Is there any evidence for this? The only two man race between Romney and Santorum, Santorum won big. Wouldn’t it make more sense rather then dividing the conservative vote, to rally the conservatives behind the best candidate to overcome Mitt?

If you’re a social liberal/fiscal conservative - how can you justify rejecting Santorum when doing so would elect Romney instead? Romney is a far bigger danger.

And your point? Santorum is winning among ‘very conservative’.

If your criteria is voting for the person favored by the most conservative folks, I would think that would be Santorum. Santorum has the best ratio of ‘very conservative’ support among his entire support. Better than Gingrich even.
