Ahh, my apologies. I missed that.
I’m not sure why inquiring about your candidate counts as an accusation.
So what’s the plan here? Do you expect Newt to overtake Santorum, or what?
Santorum demonstrated that exact thing, for over 9 straight months, he was lucky to be above 5% points. Then all of a sudden he is the ONE..........within about a 48 hour period.
And these people still can't figure out why he can't get any farther than this?
I’m not promoting anything. I was making a joke about Rick’s lack of political skills. I do not now, nor have I ever supported Romney or the establishment.
It's all about forcing a Brokered Convention and recovering our position with either Newt/Sarah Palin, or starting a new party with the two at the helm.
Santorum is the main reason this thing is in the mess it is in right now.
This is because his values are VALUED. He is right on every policy Social Conservatives care about. Every time. From the gut and without being ashamed or shy.
But so was Huckabee, a Social Conservative darn near everyone respects and who would have little opposition if he were running now.
These guys are nearly the same on the issues (SoCon and Fiscal "Moderate"...and Stste Power "Moderate") but diametric opposites in style, smarts and communication skills.
Oh, and evangelical leaders put out the word. They approved only Santorum in this cycle.
Even if they don’t work together overtly (as I wish they would), just staying in will deprive Romney of some delegates. The viable options at this point are A) Romney or B) Open Convention.
LOL don’t confuse them with brokered convention talk. They’re still convinced Santorum is going to win 70% of the remaining delegates.
“My hope is that they’ll be smart and exercise a joint strategy to tag-team Romney. It’s looking unlikely that Santorum can take on Romney solo and win in the long-term.”
Well, from what I understand of Illinois, it’s WTA by congressional district.
If the object is to deny Romney delegates, I can’t see how the current strategy is at all effective in stopping him in Illinois. Seems to me, since Santorum is far ahead of Newt, that a tag team would tag in Santorum and push him in Illinois.
Then you’d break most of the congressional districts outside of Chicago for Santorum rather than Newt.
Yes sir, trying to protect your porn I see.seeking
They are Fiscal/Economics morons. Social issues are by far, the very last thing we need to worry about right now, and you know it.
This country is on the verge of permanent economic/industrial collapse, and it will NOT be fixed by arguing about contraceptives, Women in combat, gay marriage, or whether Puerto Rico should speak English or not!
That’s a statement reflecting you’re intellectual capacity. You can’t differentiate between me not wanting the government to regulate the internet, and me trying to protect porn.
“It’s all about forcing a Brokered Convention and recovering our position with either Newt/Sarah Palin, or starting a new party with the two at the helm.”
Well, what happens if Romney gets 50 percent plus one? Wouldn’t this strategy be kaput if he gets a delegate majority?
“Santorum is the main reason this thing is in the mess it is in right now.”
How so? You don’t see Santorum as the stronger candidate? It seems to me given how the states have gone so far that Santorum has attracted significantly more support than Newt at this point.
I can understand supporting Newt, but I’m not really clear on how supporting Newt is more helpful to obtaining a brokered convention over Newt endorsing Santorum at this point.
Can you lay that out for me, because I’m really not seeing it.
Newt knows this, as do most of Newt's supporters. Especially Newt's financial backers.
If Romney gets the nomination, you can expect a sudden emergence of a third party option. If there ever was a time, it would be now.
Please show me where I said I was concerned about porn. Please include the context in which I said that.
And their smarts.
Not policies. I don't lie either of their policies.
I've been a Newt fan since 1980 and Palin after that. A little Perry, a little Paul.
I'm definitely in the small (l) libertarian wing of the party. And I know we cannot win without SoCons. And they can't win without us.
And that is T H E issue in this campaign.
We picked Gingrich...somebody most SoCons cannot stomach. They picked Santorum, somebody we can't stomach.
There just aint no gettin' around that reality.
“we can afford having Santorum as the nominee”
Ok. Just so I have it straight.
You’re hoping that the following happens.
1, Newt stays in.
2, that Newt gets enough votes to pick up delegates, while at the same time, depriving Romney of delegates, but not Santorum.
3, Santorum + Newt get enough delegates to force a brokered convention
4, Brokered convention brings out the dark horse candidate to the fore who can beat Obama.
Have I understood you correctly? If I’ve not, please correct me.
“We picked Gingrich...somebody most SoCons cannot stomach. They picked Santorum, somebody we can’t stomach.”
Yep it seems and we are tearing off two vital arms of the Republican party.
Guess he’s having trouble finding where I said I was concerned about porn.
