This is because his values are VALUED. He is right on every policy Social Conservatives care about. Every time. From the gut and without being ashamed or shy.
But so was Huckabee, a Social Conservative darn near everyone respects and who would have little opposition if he were running now.
These guys are nearly the same on the issues (SoCon and Fiscal "Moderate"...and Stste Power "Moderate") but diametric opposites in style, smarts and communication skills.
Oh, and evangelical leaders put out the word. They approved only Santorum in this cycle.
They are Fiscal/Economics morons. Social issues are by far, the very last thing we need to worry about right now, and you know it.
This country is on the verge of permanent economic/industrial collapse, and it will NOT be fixed by arguing about contraceptives, Women in combat, gay marriage, or whether Puerto Rico should speak English or not!
