President Barack Obama's 13-year-old daughter, Malia Ann Obama, will be spending her spring break in the Mexican city of Oaxaca with 12 friends and 25 Secret Service agents.
The young tourists will be in a downtown hotel in the city known for its colonial architecture and native traditions, reported a state police official.
President Barack Obamas 13-year-old daughter, Malia Ann Obama, will be spending her springbreak in the Mexican city of Oaxaca with 12 friends and 25 Secret Service agents.
"We are here to block access to the hotel by other people and escort the vehicles that are carrying the visitors to tourism sites," the police official told the AFP under the condition of anonymity.
Along with the 25 secret service agents, Obama and her friends will protected by a slew of Mexican police officers, according to the AFP.
The group arrived in Oaxaca on Saturday and reportedly visited the architectural site of Mitla. They also visited the tree of El Tule, believed to be approximately one thousand years old. The group also plans to travel to Monte Alban, which is known for its archeological research as well as the artisan sections of the city.
Just a wild guess, but I bet this is being done for votes, and generally just to kick Americans in the face.
Ya see, you too can vacation in Mexico if you're connected to the U.S. government, and are accompanied by a platoon of armed security with automatic weapons.
In these tough economic times who would send their 13 year old and her friends to Mexico without parents especially to stay at some swank resort. Most of use couldn't afford the gas to take our kids on a family vacation let alone to Mexico. This is just more of Maria Antoinette Obams's let the starving peasants eat cake.
Cuz he be da man, baby!
Lesseee - 25 USSS people to protect them along with several Mexican authorities.
They'd seem pretty safe to me.
As others have written, this is an elitist Sidwell Friends School field trip.
To go look at how the little brown people live.
I disagree with you. This is entirely "responsible journalism!"
I figure with Secret Service, planing, logistics, sending advanced teams Secrete Service to sweep the hotels of bugs, bombs, etc., (They basically have to rent out the entire hotel or the top 3 floors, to maintain adequate security), armored vehicles for transportation around Mexico, helicopters for aerial surveillance, medical doctors must be flown in to accompany the young dignitaries, special food, chefs, to make sure no one is poisoned and on an on and on and on.
Mexico loves Obama!
(Because in a righteous world, you and mommy will be living on welfare soon while daddy is in prison.)
Nope all the stories are being scrubbed, this story is gone gone gone.
Those outside FR are disappearing. Several threads here were pulled, likely because of some of the comments IMO.
“The Secret Service is not for parenting.”
It is when the king orders them to do so. The obamas are not parents. They have trophy children for political appearances.
How can the White House scrub all the news sites??? What’s going on here???
This is good...before it’s pulled....FR mentioned
The blaze asked why FR pulled, see link I posted above...
Well, you don’t have to worry about it now, because it is GONE.
Just wow.
Dear Lord, give us strength.
Tatt
Barack Obama can afford that school because the taxpayers employee him. I am betting we pay for their education. He eats $100.00 Kobe beef, his children want for nothing, his wife vacations and dresses lavishly. The POTUS makes about $400,000.00 per year, and there is no way he and his family could live their lifestyle on that annual income. He spends our money like a drunken sailor and tells us we have to sacrifice.
Well, Glenn’s tinfoil might be too tight today. The threads I saw that were pulled had some pretty tasteless comments.
One of the scrubbed sites listed in the post #68 link IS Free Republic!! Huh?
Nothing more complicated than that.
