It’s still disingenuous. The definition can be found at either Webster.com or Dictionary.com .

Newt, BTW, was the first person to personally point out that Drudge was shilling for Romney. FWIW.

Big woop. A lot of FREEPERS supported Romney in 2008. Anything to get rid of that jerk McCain.

The Problem as I see it with Romney is that he will be such a mediocre President that even if he does win he will be so middle of the road as to “not upset the apple cart” that the economy will not bloom and then in 4 years it will assure that the democrats take back power on the whole meme that the “economy didn’t recover”.

Not to mention any GOP president is going to be so damned hated no matter how “moderate” they are. Mittens will get so damned gun shy that he will be ineffective and the MSM and the Democrat controlled media will smell blood and keep attacking him even as he retreats and this will paralyze him to what needs to be done to restore the economy and defuse all of Obama’s horrible regulatory actions.

Newt is going to be hated like hell anyways and HE KNOWS THAT, but he also knows that he will have the people who put him there behind even if the Media doesn’t paint it that way every night at 5:00pm.

So therefore, Newt (who thrives on antagonism instead of flinching from it) will take the bold measures to recover the economy despite being thrashed every night on the MSM news channels. In Four years the MSM will be flabbergasted like their were on election night in 1984, because the man on the street will notice the economy improvement.

Mitt is a Flincher, Newt is a Clincher

Definition of a Clincher:

a decisive fact, argument, act, or remark

Definition of a Flincher:

to withdraw or shrink from or as if from pain

We are so SOL if Either Mittens gets in or Barry gets a second term.

Mittens would only slow things down and then in four years the GOP would be blamed so much but with little to show we would still be in an economic malaise the likes of Carter’s worst dreams. This would GUARANTEE a Democrat Victory over the house the senate and even the presidency in 2016. They would not be pulling any punches as they would run someone that would make Obama look like a middle of the road moderate. Because they know they would have a very good chance of winning. Not to mention the class warfare game that could be played to Bolshevik conclusion during that election if we get Romney and mediocre performance out of him which is very much likely.

Of course Obama winning would be a very much “nothing to lose” second term that would see him likely either completely destroying the economy so badly that they play the game of “Destroy and Support” in that they would destroy the economy and then support the people as the “great savior” thus ensuring either “Glorious Revolution” or the mass construction project of making millions more so dependent that they will have a permanent grip on power that would only come undone with Blood sweat and tears, but mostly Blood and Tears.

ABO and ABR, because we really need Newt or maybe Santorum if we get desperate, heck I would even take, heaven forbid (I can’t believe I am saying this), Ron Paul over Romney for the reasons above.

So I repeat once more: Newt is the Clincher, and Mitt is the Flincher.

NAILED IT!!!

In fact a LOT of Freepers were for Duncan Hunter or Fred Thompson and when they left they got behind Romney to try to stop McLame.

You're absolutely right. Blaming Santorum for backing Romney in 2008 just means Santorum 1) didn't like McCain and 2) didn't like one or more things about Huckabee’s record.

However, some of us realized even four years ago that there were problems with Romney.

I had been a Romney supporter until the 2008 Iowa caucuses, but then voted for Huckabee in 2008 when the voting came around in Missouri. I've learned much more about Romney's wrong views in the last four years — thank you, Free Republic!!! — but I think conservatives today can easily be forgiven for not realizing four years ago just how bad Romney's views had been on abortion, gay marriage, and related issues.

Blame me for supporting Huckabee in 2008 if you like. That's fair, and I'm quite aware of the weaknesses in Huckabee’s record. But when criticizing my vote, recognize the only alternative to Romney and Huckabee by the time Missourians voted was to vote for McCain, and I think that proves the point of why Santorum did what he did.

When people today ask me how I could support a candidate who pardoned convicted murderers, my response is that I'd rather see a murderer go free when he shouldn't than see a governor say he's pro-choice on letting murderers-for-hire profit from killing massive numbers of defenseless babies. Both positions are wrong, but one is much worse than the other. I'd also point out that Huckabee was a successful governor and repeatedly re-elected, while Romney decided not to bother running for re-election because he was deeply unpopular and knew he'd lose. If executive experience counts, and it does, one governor was clearly more successful than the other.

Why does Drudge keep bringing up this OLD NEWS about Santorum’s endorsement of Romney from four years ago??? Between Romney, McCain, and Huckabee, Romney was probably considered the most conservative candidate in that pathetic GOP candidate class of 2008 and that’s why Santorum endorsed him. EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOWS THIS, SO WHY IN THE HELL IS IT HEADLINE NEWS TODAY??? It doesn’t change the fact that Santorum obviously isn’t endorsing Romney anymore!!!

Anyone who's been on Drudge's site these past six months knows he's shilling for the candidate of his choice.

I don't like it. But it no longer surprises me so I can't get really upset about it.

Besides, I'm pacing myself for November :^D

It's worth noting the situation was different 1,504 days ago (that's 4 years for those of you in Rio Linda). When people were having to decide between John McCain and a host of others. It's not too hard to imagine that Santorum believed Romney the more conservative of the two.

In other headlines:
Breaking News Teddy Roosevelt Endorsed Taft [37,960 days ago]
Ronald Reagan registered as Democrat [18250 days ago]

And Mitt Romney has (changed) his mind on how many issues since then?

Talk about nailing it, Grace, This EXACTLY sums up what I think:

“Mitt is a Flincher, Newt is a Clincher

Definition of a Clincher:

a decisive fact, argument, act, or remark

Definition of a Flincher:

to withdraw or shrink from or as if from pain”

Dear Mitt-Matt,

If you think I’ll come “home” and support Mitt’s liberal ass if he wins the nomination, you are seriously mistaken. I’m no longer a member of the GOPe as long as it rams candidates upon us. And Matt, I know you like ramming male candidates.

I’d rather watch Rome burn quickly than allow Mitt-Matt to let it burn at a more moderate pace.

Dear Rush: Please don’t hand me the BS that I have to support Mitt or the world will end. You said the same thing about McStain. It aint workin’ this year.

Mitt-Matt and Rove can go to hell.

Big deal, Drudge. So did I, when the only alternative was McCain. I will again in the future if the only alternative is Obama, but for now, we still have alternatives.
