The Exec.Order allows the nationalization of pretty much the entire USA even in peacetime if he desires. They can, under this order, restrict civilian travel by any mode, including (probably) foot travel. They can ration food. They can restrict water usage, even from private wells. They can ration any and all drugs, including OTC and vitamins. They can collectivize farms. They can take over all energy production, including home solar units. It also allows for drafting civilians. If they have need of your skills, they can compel you to work for no compensation. All this not in a time of war, but in time of “National Emergency” (several EO national emergency states already in place) or even in Peacetime

For Obama or any President to take over they need the backing of the military. The police could never enforce it. They lack the firepower the people can put up. Do you see our men and women in uniform today shooting Americans for Obama? I don’t. I see them defending the Constitution and the people from ALL ENEMIES including those from within..

Good grief people, this is being blown all out of proportion

I got this email this morning...

OBAMA is now attacking FFA (Future Farmers of America) and 4-H. They are imposing new regulations on Family Farms and child labor and specifically sighted these two organizations as not good for children. One of the regs is children cannot be around farm animals under the age of 16. They are holding hearings on this right now.

Children under the age of 16 will NOT be able to TOUCH any animals or TRACTORS. You do understand......our County Fairs are put on by our local 4-H groups, which are all CHILDREN! Our kids won't be able to show animals or participate in tractor pulls. CITY KIDS WON'T BE ABLE TO DO GRASS CUTS ON WEEKENDS!

I think the issue that has people stirred up here is that while this EO may have roots that trace back as far as 1939, that up until now, we had, (or thought we had), decent people in charge who were not intent upon the destruction of all we know and love : |

Today, we have a card carrying Socialist in the White House, the country’s largest employer is the federal government, a Congress that seeks only to grow their own power, and nearly half of the populace with their collective hand out, yet paying nothing in.

Yes, the groundwork, and precedents that were put into place may have been well meaning, but now, our road to heck has indeed been paved with good intentions. 0 now has the near perfect platform to close the loop on our freedom, and all he has to do is to say that he just made a few minor changes, nothing to worry about now children, move along...

Thanks again for the discussion, and for the information, even though trying to make sense of all the legalese makes my head swim, and what I do understand, even from the original text in 1939 and 1950, makes my heart ache.

Here comes the it can't happen here crowd. Did you read it??? Did you see what was changed?? They can do this during peace time now. He doesn't need a national emergency to implement this. He only has to say that our country isn't defended as properly as it should be and he cant nationalize any industry he wants and draft and people he wants to achieve those goals. Also as I read it a lot, if not all of this power falls under the jurisdiction of the Dept of Homeland Security now instead of FEMA. If we then gave them a Uragan D2 shower, it would shift the Laffer Curve 50% to the right, we could eliminate 80% of the Federal government, and junk the entire concept of "affirmative action." Okay, this new EO is nothing more than standard update of prior executive orders that said basically the same thing. This has been analyzed to death over at Hot Air, Legal Insurrection, Ace of Spades, etc. There is nothing particularly noteworthy here unless you were terrified of the previous EO's almost just like it amended by Clinton and Bush.

Sorry, if you want to throw in with the black helicopter crowd and worry yourself sick about nothing over at InfoWars, go for it. I am going to take a pass. This is nothing more than conspiracy mongering.
