Current Communist Goals

I know that this list has been posted on FR before--probably many times. If JR wants to take this post down as a duplicate, he is certainly free to do so. But in light of the number of brain-dead fools lurking on FR these days who take their cues on personal freedom from Larry Flynt and not from the Founding Fathers and traditional American morality, I feel it is a good time to post and discuss this list again.

While some of the goals on this list are out-of-date historically speaking, many are in the process of being accomplished right now under our very noses. On the whole, the list provides a checklist for how to undermine a nation and set it up for destruction. Perhaps it would be good if folks read down this list and reflected on how their statements and actions might be contributing to the accomplishment of our enemies' goals.

Current Communist Goals

EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Thursday, January 10, 1963

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:

CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS

1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.

8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces.

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.

43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.

45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

I have repeatedly told people over the years that is precisely what I believe Franklin meant when he said, “A republic, if you can keep it.”

Franklin knew that where individuals could not restrain themselves or their own behavior, governments would be asked, if not begged to restrain them, and more than happy to oblige.

I agree and it’s obvious (again) just how wise our founders were.

Most Americans think our problems can be solved by some mysterious supercandidate and nothing could be further from the truth. We are a nation divided and special interests groups dominate our national conversation/agenda with the help of media and academics. These groups are not just bankrupting the treasury.... they tear holes in our national fabric in the name of tolerance and the nanny state.

If Ronald Reagan in his prime was our candidate today it is unlikely that he could turn our nation around if he were even elected. We need a revival of spirit. Moral governance would follow.

I don’t think that will happen so I spend more time focusing on what I can do to help my family weather a storm.

No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation.^[12]

In war there is no substitute for victory. There are some who for varying reasons would appease Red China. They are blind to history's clear lesson, for history teaches with unmistakable emphasis that appeasement but begets new and bloodier wars.

There is not one incident in the history of humanity in which defeatism led to peace which was anything other than a complete fraud.

Whether in chains or in laurels, liberty knows nothing but victories.

Age wrinkles the body. Quitting wrinkles the soul.

We are not retreating - we are advancing in another direction.

The United States is a pre-eminently Christian and conservative nation. It is far less militaristic than most nations. It is not especially open to the charge of imperialism. Yet one would fancy that Americans were the most brutally blood-thirsty people in the world to judge by the frantic efforts that are being made to disarm them both physically and morally...The effect of all this unabashed and unsound propaganda is not so much to convert America to a holy horror of war as it is to confuse the public mind and lead to muddled thinking in international affairs.^[13]

In the last 3,400 years only 268 -- less than 1 in 13 -- have been free from wars.

I have known war as few men now living know it. Its very destructiveness on both friend and foe has rendered it useless as a means of settling international disputes.

The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.

Could I have but a line a century hence crediting a contribution to the advance of peace, I would yield every honor which has been accorded by war.^[14]

A better world shall emerge based on faith and understanding.

Talk of imminent threat to our national security through the application of external force is pure nonsense. Our threat is from the insidious forces working from within which have already so drastically altered the character of our free institutions — those institutions we proudly called the American way of life. ^[15]

It [socialism] discourages development of moral forces which would preserve inviolate our representative form of government, answerable to the will of the electorate.^[16]

Are we going to squander our limited resources to the point of our own inevitable exhaustion, or adopt commonsense policies of frugality which will insure financial stability in our time and a worthwhile heritage in that of our progeny?

Are we going to continue to permit the pressure of alien doctrines to strongly influence the orientation of foreign and domestic policy, or regain trust in our own traditions, experience and free institutions, and the wisdom of our own people?

In short, is American life of the future to be characterized by freedom or by servitude, strength or weakness? The answer must be clear and unequivocal if we are to avoid the pitfalls toward which we are heading with such certainly. In many respects it is not to be found in any dogma of political philosophy, but in those immutable precepts which underlie the Ten Commandments.

These pressures have already caused us to depart sharply from the course so long held toward national strength and moral greatness. Our economic statute built under the incentive of free enterprise is imperiled by our drift through the back door of confiscatory taxation toward socialism.

It is a singular habit in this country to raise high the military when war threatens, but to ignore security needs in the pleasanter times of peace.^[17]^[18]

Are we going to preserve the religious base to our origin, our growth and our progress, or yield to the devious assaults of atheistic or other anti-religious forces?^[19]^[20]

The people have it in their hands to restore morality, wisdom and direction to of our foreign and domestic affairs, and regain the religious base which in times past assured general integrity in public and private life.^[21]^[22]

...The spiritual impulse is strong in many American hearts and constitutes a rugged bulwark in the defense of religious morality against the advance of any atheistic immorality.^[23]^[24]

Our great strength rests in those high-minded Americans whose faith in God and love of country transcends all selfishness and self-serving instincts.^[25]

There are those who seek to convert us to a form of socialistic endeavor leading directly to the path of Communist slavery.^[26]

There can be no compromise with atheistic Communism - no half-way in the preservation of freedom and religion.^[27]^[28]

We all dream of of the day when human conduct will be governed by the Decalogue and the Sermon and the Mount.^[29]^[30]

History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed in to political and economic decline.^[31]

I promise to keep on living as though I expected to live forever. Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. People grow old only by deserting their ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up interest wrinkles the soul.

I am concerned for the security of our great Nation; not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within. ^[32]

If I were the Prince of Darkness, I would want to engulf the whole world in darkness.

And I would have one-third of the real estate and four-fifths of the population, but I wouldn’t be happy until I had the ripest apple on the tree.

So I’d set about, however necessary, to take over the United States of America.

I’d subvert the churches first; I’d begin with a campaign of whispers.

With the wisdom of a serpent I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: “Do What You Please.”

To the youth I would whisper, The Bible is a myth.

I would convince them that man made God instead of the other way around.

I would confide that what’s bad is good and what’s good is…square.

In the ears of the young married, I would whisper that work is debasing; that cocktail parties are good for you.

And to the old I would teach to pray after me:

Our Father, who art in Washington…

And then I’d get organized; I’d educate authors on how to make lurid literature exciting, so that everything else would appear dull and uninteresting.

I’d threaten television with dirtier movies and vice versa.

I’d peddle narcotics to whom I could; I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction;

I’d tranquilize the fit with pills.

If I were the Devil I’d soon have families at war with themselves, churches at war with themselves, and nations at war with themselves; until each in its turn was consumed.

And with promises of higher ratings I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames.

If I were the Devil I’d encourage schools to refine young intellects but neglect to discipline emotions; let those run wild. Before you know it, you’d have to have drug-sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.

Within a decade I’d have prisons overflowing.

With flattery and promises of power I would get the courts to do what I construe as against God and in favor of pornography.

I’d designate an atheist to front for me before the highest courts and I’d get the preachers to say, “She’s right.” Thus we could evict God from the courthouse, then from the school house, and then from the Houses of Congress.

And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion and deify science. I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys, girls and church money.

If I were the Devil, I’d take from those who have and give it to those who want it, until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious.

What’ll you bet that I couldn’t get whole States to promote gambling as the way to get rich?

I would caution against extremes: in hard work, in patriotism, and in honorable conduct.

I would convince the youth that marriage is old-fashioned, but swinging is more fun; that what you see on television is the way to be; and thus I could undress you in public and I would lure you into bed where there are diseases for which there is no cure.

Then I would separate families, putting children in uniform, women in coal mines and objectors in slave-labor camps.

In other words, if I were the Devil, I’d just keep doing what he’s doing.

This is why we have to have 2 plans, and both A; can't afford B.

1. Make the Chief-in-liar to pack and leave in November.

2. Bulletproof Congress with veto power, the best, or a good majority.

Even if the Chief-in-liar remains in office (which I highly doubt) then he can do little with a constant harassment from the Congress: like, the criminal prosecution of Holder and similar characters, and then the impeachment procedure (Holder will give plenty info for that). The Tea Party will come out again, just to keep the RINOs in line.

Now, it's time to open 2 bubbly, as you call it, and enjoy the show. The economy will get better starting first with a boom in psychiatry and with group therapy professionals who will be busy with the disillusioned left. Second, the airlines will do well taking the Hollywood and entertainment types to Europe so they can whine about how bad America is. Ooops, wrong place to go; the Europeans are still pulling each other hair out about which country to be bailed out next and who will pay for it. They will be irritated listening to rich whiners.

First of all, let me assure you that the Commonwealth of Virginia does get involved in these issues ...usually at the county or independent city level. There are numerous recent cases on record. I don't know what state or commonwealth you live in; so, your situation may be different.

Second: The fact that the federal government has usurped powers that should be relegated to the states does not make this Constitutionally correct and is all the more reason why ANY Conservative candidate for the presidency should avoid this or similar issues. Santorum’s position on this is big government at its worst; and, frankly that is a major flaw in many of Santorum’s policy positions.

Third; Even if you somehow assume that this should be a federal issue; it is does not rise to the level of being a presidential issue. Rick's statement will be amplified by the media and used by the opposition to trivialize his candidacy; at at time when Rick needs to be focusing his efforts on jobs and the economy.
