That is Santorum’s problem, he thinks Government has the answer for everything. What's next, will he suggest burning books, more government intrusion into the private lives of FREE Americans. I certainly agree the pornography is a problem, however, so is an intruding government that thinks they can legislate absolutely everything. Just let him keep talking and he will begin to sound like Obama.
Oh I forgot about all those intrusive bills he has already authored, and some he just thinks he can author to “save” all us sinners.
By the way, maybe he and Karen should consider all the time they are spending away from their precious daughter. I don't mean that in a harsh way, so lay off you next ugly post. I just think if Bella is truly living on borrowed time, God would want him not to waste one minute away from her, especially on a political run. Time is so precious, it gets away from all of us. Rick and Karen are spending a great deal of time away from that sweet baby, and I just keep asking myself if it is worth it.
Politics is not worth wasting the time they could be spending with that precious child. GOD bless Bella and her family. I have her in my prayers daily. I also think Bella is just about the sweetest name I have ever heard. I wish I would of thought of that name when I had my daughter.

Sadly, politics is religion to politicians.

Dear Bobbisox,
You have just voiced one of my chief reasons for NOT supporting Santorum. I have hesitated to share this one publicly, though. You see, we are the parents of a medically fragile, severely disabled child. We walk in these shoes everyday and we know the toll that the stress and strain takes on a person, on a marriage, on a family.
I have so much more that I wish I could say about the issue but I will leave it at that. If a person has never walked in these shoes, they would never understand my opinions.
BTW, as much as I love Sarah Palin, I had the very same hesitations about her serving, too.

A few thoughts:
1) Govt should enforce laws equally.
2) There are way too may laws.

These threads have convinced me that the collective IQ of Free Republic has dropped about 30 points since I first started posting here in 1998. Back then, it was obvious that obscenity is harmful to society, could and should be policed and restricted and IS NOT protected under the First Amendment. Now, we have all of you absolute slack-jawed morons arguing that Rick Santorum is somehow the equivalent of the Taliban for suggesting that the obscenity laws that are already on the books should actually be enforced.
And worse....
Gingrich and Romney have exactly the same position as Santorum on this issue.
You're all being played by the media and you're either on-board with the narrative or are too stupid to realize it.

Have you noticed the double standard bewtween Rick’s run for President and Sarah’s run for VP? You are the first person who has raised the question of his children, especially the special needs child, Bella.
Palin was blasted no matter what she did, but she was roundly criticized for not putting her children first, which was not true. I have noted there has been no such “concern” voiced as Rick and Karen have campaigned.

It would be helpful if they’d rid the laws of political correctness...then the people would be more outspoken against these abuses of freedom....AND STOP THE RIDICULOUS LAWSUITS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO SPEAK UP!
