Five men walked out of the Union County courthouse $4 million richer this morning. A Union County jury ruled that Americo Lopes, 52, cheated his five coworkers and lottery pool members out of a $38.5 million jackpot. The eight-member jury was unanimous in its decision that the November 10, 2009 lottery was won on a pool ticket and not a personal ticket, as Lopes had claimed. The former Elizabeth construction worker testified that he bought 12 tickets — including the jackpot winner that day — solely for himself, even though he typically played in a lottery pool with the five men who each paid for two tickets.

Luck. Oh well, I still would have liked for the crook to win the case. Anything that discourages people from playing the lottery is good by me.

As I tried to explain to you and a couple others, it had already been established the "winner" was a liar, and he had good reason to lie, evade and deceive.
Lets just say he had a rather large motive to do so Bob.
This should have been clear to all.
Back when I worked at a place that had a lottery pool, we’d buy the tickets then photocopy them and give everyone a copy.
That's what the guy who runs the lottery pool does where I work.He gives us a copy of the numbers with our names and how much we throw in. Some people in the pool throw in double to get 2 shares.
