I thought Obama was a slam dunk? That’s what the narrative was yesterday, tucked into the jobs report.
Even a RINO squish (who draws ZERO enthusiasm) can beat Obama by 5 points.

His approval is -19 and 44 pct. That is the lowest in a while. Must be gas prices and his stupidity when talking about it.
I know everytime I am pumping up I say to people, what is “our” president(sic) doing to help us out with these gas prices!?(I do throw up a little after saying that phrase)

The Lame Stream Media knows thesze stats and that’s why they are working OT in pumping out this “great recovery”.

My squirrely dog can beat Obama this next election!!
The question is do we want a liberal or conservative republican to beat Obama's socialist, radical, anti-american ass this Nov?

Good timing. This should be worth a good crop of ABO votes in the south. 4 more years of Obama at worst or a feckless moderate Republican at best. Oh well, it will be funny to watch how shocked people will be to find out Obamacare isn't really about free birth control: “Really, I can't get my bypass, the government what?, what's this have to do with having sex?”

Maybe reverse psychology — make Obama look like the underdog and that could get him the sympathy vote.
[Hey, the white-guilt vote got into the White House 3 years ago.]

They should rename "Rasmussen" as the Romney Reporting Service. I don't recall seeing too many surveys by Rasmussen when Romney wasn't in the lead.
I hope it has nothing to do with the fact that the anagram for "Rasmussen" is "earns sums".

Obama is going to have to fake the poll numbers just like his buddy Putin did ,wait for it .
To: BarnacleCenturion
I don’t care what the media tries to make the polls “say”.....Romney is a BAD canidate for the Republicans and will lose the election against Obama!

The sympathy vote is long gone. There is ZERO sympathy with $4 gas and $5 trillion added to the debt. Not to mention Obamacare, etc.

If you dig deeper into the article. Santorum also leads Obama, 46-45.
If Santorum is the Republican nominee, he is up by one point over the president, 46% to 45%. This is the second time since polling began in 2011 that Santorum has had a slight lead over Obama.

He's got ‘electability’! which is why we have to keep telling you over and over and over to, uh.,.. elect him.

That doesn't keep the MSM/Dems from trying to provide cover for The One and his Second Coming:
Saturday on
Meet the Press, David Gregory tried to provide pre-emptive cover for Obama with this editorialized comment to Rep. Cantor regarding gas prices:
MR. GREGORY: And part of that, of course, I wonder as a, as a leader in the Congress, if you would counsel Republicans running for president not to use gas prices as a political club against the president when it really is a failure of leadership, is it not, on the part of Republicans and Democrats going back decades here, to fail to achieve energy independence and then be subject to the winds of--whims, rather, of instability in the Middle East that makes gas prices go up and down.

I saw that Meet The Press quote yesterday from you and I was going to ask you if it is real?
“Can you promise not to attack Obama over gas prices, it’s not his fault. Let’s focus on important things like subsidized birth control and free condoms.”

Rasmussen is a good snapshot poll of what is going on. Obama support has been solid 25 percent and opposition has been solid 40 percent. That leaves 35 percent whose support and opposition is soft. Rising gas and food prices will turn this 35 percent somewhat against Obama in Nov 2012. Rising gas prices will not help the economy and increase employment. We will know how bad Obama’s re election chances by July 2012. If economy, employment is stagnate, and gas prices are north of 4 bucks, Obama most likely will lose, and Dems may face losses in the House and Senate.
