This 1962
Gerry Goffin and Carole King tune is brilliantly orchestrated. The intro features a harpsichord, and the rhythmic impulse is carried by triangle and tympani. There is even a full string section.
Unfortunately, the engineer over-miked the vocalists, pinned the VU meter, and caused a lot of distortion. But it's still a groundbreaking recording.
