AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).
No surprise; Rush has the largest audience in talk radio, with more than twice as many listeners as his nearest competitors. And, according to a Pew Research Study, his audience is more affluent and better-educated than that of the MSM. Rush is in the enviable position of being able to pick-and-choose his sponsors; I’ve also heard that he has a waiting list of advertisers, like the late Paul Harvey. With that kind of clout, it’s easy to replace the cowards that bailed last week.
Incidentally, a 60-second commercial on Rush’s network will set you back $16,000. Local stations also charge premium rates for spots that air during Rush’s show. And lest we forget, Rush’s program is one of the few syndicated radio talk shows that stations must pay to carry. Most are provided free, with the “network” retaining a certain percentage of the commercial slots each hour.
There’s a reason stations gladly pay to air Rush’s program—he delivers. When the Fluke “controversy” exploded, there was nary a peep from Rush’s syndicator (Premier Radio), or the vast majority of his affiliates. In fact, the only stations that have cancelled his show are a couple of teakettle outfits in MA (go figure) and HI (ditto). And, in many cases, a cancellation is actually a convenient cover for other reasons, i.e., the station can’t afford to pay the syndication fee to carry Rush’s show.
Okay, but why still have ads running in OHIO?!

Of course they will buy a Nissan Leaf instead which will charge it’s batteries from a radiation spewing COAL plant before ever admitting that they pollute more using a Leaf than a decent Gasoline car....

Hey folks .... I know Rush is saying all is well; however, I sent an e-mail to my local radio station yesterday to thank them for carrying the Rush show because I was certain they were coming under some pressure from the Left. The message I got back was:
“It hasn’t been easy. The opposition is very organized...but thanks.”
I guess I should not have been surprised …. but I was. This is a strong Rush market and I did not expect the station to be coming under such pressure.
If you are so inclined, PLEASE contact your local Rush radio station and let them know that you support them for carrying Rush. If you have state ‘ping’ lists, let them know this is going on. Enlist the aid of your friends and relatives living in the area …... whatever resources you have to get the message to these beleaguered radio stations, use them!

Sad day for Pro Football. I didn’t hear all of the press conference but I did hear Peyton choke up. Sad. I’ll miss him but hope that he gets completely healthy before going to another team.

I have seen some propaganda ads put out by the unions, basically glorifying the American worker (by which they mean union member, since in their world nobody who is not in a union actually works.)
