The underwear staple for women is making its way into wardrobes of the opposite sex - and the look is gaining popularity.
If any were in doubt as to the strength of the trend, it even has its own name: Mantyhose.

I know some men who ride horses a lot wear hose under their pants to help prevent chafing etc... But they never let it show and they never ever talk or admit to it.
I can see men wearing hose as a functional garment to do manly activities like riding horses, but as a fashion statement...
Well, I was sworn to secrecy, so I’ll keep details to a minimum here. I do know of certain members of a military honor guard, and some watch standers that resorted to Queen sized panty hose (”Winteralls”) in order to insulate themselves from bitter cold while on duty. Yes. Swear ta’ gawd this predated the advent of modern thermal undwear design...but some seemed to enjoy it waaaay too much.
One night when we were watching TV and the commercial came on, our then-6 year old daughter asked my husband “daddy will you wear that?” Daddy, an engineer said scornfully “no, baby-real daddys don’t wear that.” That is still true...
And let’s not forget the other Carter era stuff we have been forced to re-visit-home thermostasts turned down to freezing and wearing coats in the house because of the cost of electricity, heating oil and propane, eating ground beef as a treat instead of the better cuts of beef, and counting the change from everyone’s pockets to buy an extra gallon of gas-like that worked out so well the first time.
And coming soon, at this rate-the joy and camaraderie of waiting in line at the local gas station, hoping there is still going to be gas left for you to buy...
I wear em under my sweats. Very comfortable and very warm on a cold day while running. Noticed less cramping and leg pains.
I do not understand why or how women have bruises on their legs all of the time.
Hmmm. Not me. If your thighs and crotch are moving around enough to cause chaffing, you're probably doing something wrong. Stop gripping with your knees, relax your legs and let gravity keep you still.
However, I have worn the ankle high foot things for jogging, or breaking in new boots. They help reduce blisters when shoes are new.

From sleeping with men who have sharp knees. I keep threatening to buy my husband knee pads for that very reason.
