Romney being virtually unopposed in Virginia (a gift) and Mass giving him the biggest margins for the night.
To: Dagnabitt

Looks like FOX just called it for Romney. Drink!
To: Red Steel
Yes.
Two gifts for Romney: Massachusetts and Virginia.

Umm...How did Newt do well tonight?
To: napscoordinator
Just kill me now......lol. Seriously, Santorum can certainly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I am seriously disgusted....I hope that phrase was correct and accurate for what I am feeling. :-) Then you wouldn't get the "good news" about Rick. ;^).

So why isn’t Georgia a gift for Gingrich?
To: Strategerist
Because he didn’t run unopposed. His rivals campaigned in his state.

To: Ingtar
So far tonight, the delegates from today (only) are: Romney 178 Santor 064 Newt.. 052 Paul.. 014
The killer is the way the states are set up - Ala (47) proportional, Mississippi (37) proportional, KY (42) prop., ARK (33) prop., Texas (152) prop., Cali (169) winner take all, N.J. (50) winner take all, Utah (40) winner take all. It kills the "southern strategy". Mitt will get portions of the southern delegates and will get all of many other states'.

The reason any rivals campaigned there is because Gingrich was somewhat weak there in the first place. They didn’t bother with Massachusetts and I’m sure no one is going to bother a whole lot with Pennsylvania.
I’m baffled by what is “embarrassing” and “not embarrassing.”
In my world, 47% of the vote in the state you represented in Congress for 20 years is kind of embarrassing.
I also think having seven different caucuses and primaries with single digit vote percentages is pretty embarrassing (I’m only counting the ones where Newt was actually on the ballot.)
