According to a series of advertisers' Twitter and Facebook statements, at least 20 different sponsors have now pulled their spots from Rush Limbaugh's radio show.
In case you're new to the kerfuffle—welcome out of hibernation!—advertisers began dropping like flies after Limbaugh called a Georgetown law student and women's rights activist a "slut" and a "prostitute" for supporting healthcare coverage for contraception.
Sleep Number and The Sleep Train, both mattress suppliers, were the first two advertisers to pull their ads Friday, and the numbers have grown tenfold since then.
Media Matters has been regularly updating a list of advertisers that have been dropped (or aired) ads on Limbaugh's show.
On Tuesday, Bare Escentuals, Sensa Weight Loss program, Hadeed Carpet, Thompson Creek Windows, Vitacost, AccuQuote Life insurance, and Polycom all joined the Exodus.
Two local radio stations have also stopped running Limbaugh's show.
But some advertisers are finding it difficult to pull their ads, even if they disagree with Limbaugh's statements, because they bought package deals with the network. This means that their ads aren't specifically intended to air during Limbaugh's show.
Amberen, a menopause medication, explained the difficulty on its Facebook page:
"We understand that some of our customers are concerned that Amberen ads are still airing on the Rush Limbaugh show. Lunada Biomedical assures you that we take these concerns to heart! Most of our employees, including the CEO, are female. And like millions of other Americans we were outraged by Rush Limbaugh's incendiary and offensive comments. However, we are a small company that buys remnant (leftover) media time and, as such, we cannot, by definition, be considered the ‘sponsors’ of Mr. Limbaugh's show.”

Will be calling Sears tomorrow. We have purchased many Kenmore Items from them in the past. Had nasty go around with Netflix. And nasty encounter with a leftist on Facebook. I need a shower. It’s sad really sad how deep hate is on the left. These people can’t be happy.
pls keep us informed because i subscribe to netflix too and would cancel
Can you please tell me where you got the address? I called their customer service tonight but was told they had no idea who to speak with regarding the Rush controversy. And when I looked for an address, I could not find one. Please respond either on this thread or pm me. I’d appreciate it. I too have a letter I’d like to send.
If he had talked about Arpaio's Investigation that day, none of this would have happened.
If Rush will not defend the Constitution, then why defend him?
Why believe a Soros lying and soon
Operation ?
This list is pure bs .
I have never most of these supposed ads on his show and some of these ads are local crap like some hospital .
Advertisers change weekly for all radio stations the contracts run
Out .
The Soros machine is trying to keep a dead issue alive .
Pathetic .
This list is pure bd from a Soros lie machine .
Sears has never run a ad on rush radio show unless some
Radio station in some lib town like boulder
George Soros has funded many organizations that help attack the advertisers with pre-organized callers who enlisted even before they knew the target. You’ve got Media Matters feeding the media the propaganda and then MoveOn.org, etc. co-ordinating the calls and activism. Conservatives need to form similar organizations and do it better.
Where do we go to organize a boycot against these advertisers? Does anyone know?
Well, like it or not that is what the free market is all about. I have no doubt Rush will get new advertisers and knowing him he’ll come out ahead because of it. I bet his ratings are up.
LMAO!
Excellent letter!! Please make sure you send a copy to pr@netflix.com because I think that’s where the war-gaming is going on right now in terms of their reaction to Rush.
It’s their money and they can pull their ad dollars if they please. But those of us that support Rush can take note and boycott them just as well.
I heard an AllState ad on Rush Tuesday.
thanks for the phone number I have used Netflix for years and wished for a number. I love Netflix and don't want to cancel. I read the thread where they said they didn't advertise and I can't remember if they did or not, I have heard the ads but not sure if during Rush.
I talked to the service rep, their phones are ringing off the wall. I said my website is keeping people calm but they should sue Media Matters for lying about them.
I will stay with NF, and I hope all companies will sue MM.
I also wrote Clear Channel to thank them for airing Rush.
I'm sure Rush will have many advertisers take the places of those gone and I won't use them again.
That's where I sent it. Haven't got a reply back. Does anyone have a quick list handy of other e-mail addresses for other sponsors I can send it to?
I had the same allstate agent since 1983 when I lived in Seattle. Then I moved to Kentucky. The move to the agent there was seamless, except they put full coverage on my 2001 Chrysler 300m. In a phone call I told them I didn’t need full coverage because I never cause accidents and the car now has 160k miles on it (though it still looked and drove almost as good as the day I drove it off the lot when it was new).
Four days later, a deer ran right into the side while my wife was driving. I was following her and watched it happen. So I call for the claim and find out the new agent had removed even comprehensive insurance. This little mistake cost me at least $5,000.
Meanwhile, everone had been telling me how great farm bureau was about paying claims, etc., so I checked them out. I switched to farm bureau, and saw the premium on my two cars - are you ready for this? - go from ~$1,200 every six months to ~$450 every six months for the exact same coverage and deductible. And I got a 20% reduction in my homeowners insurance.
I now pay less for BOTH homeowners and my two cars than I used to pay for the cars alone. And I am in a rural location in tornado alley (read the recent news) and no fire hydrant within miles!
I honestly thought there was a mistake at first and had to verify the agent’s numbers.
