Two radio stations have dropped The Rush Limbaugh Show from their schedules following the firestorm surrounding his offensive attack on law student Sandra Fluke on his show last week.
KPUA in Hilo, Hawaii, and WBEC in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, announced today that they would no longer carry the show after the right-wing radio host called Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke a slut and prostitute over her support of President Barack Obamas new contraception plan.
Limbaugh made a rare public apology on Saturday in the wake of the uproar caused by his comments, which led to several advertisers pulling out of the show,...

“But this mess has revealed a very soft underbelly of Rush. One from a business logistic point that makes no sense to me.”

Rush is a businessman AND a political a activist. His enormous outreach is made possible by his business acumen and resultant financial success.
Listeners of his program are not forced to buy the products he advertises. If they choose to patronize his advertisers, the onus is on them to determine whether the company or its political philosophy violate their personal standards.
You're right. This attack was inevitable. If the Fluke's antics hadn't presented them with this opportunity, they would have engineered some other sideshow instead.
Here comes redgolum again -- part of the Greek chorus.
This is what happens when you take their money. After reading that article on American Spectator, it's obvious to me that they laid the table, he sat down at it, and when it was time, they pulled the tablecloth and threw everything up in the air. They have been laying in wait for this moment (raking in the money from US the whole time), he stepped into the trap, and now the media can make the story sound bigger than it really is.
These foreign newspapers always have America’s best interests at heart.
How about “Limbaugh not dropped from over 1500 + radio stations”???
Yes, I agree with everything you say. But, they still jumped on his ‘apology’ for their own purpose. All in all, he should have stuck to his ‘satire’ angle (which is what it was). My goodness, people have been called “Nazis” (much worse, I would think, considering they murdered millions - not sure how many millions killed have been attributed to “sluts”).
Thanks for the link.
Well said / done LeoWindhorse. I hope that is multiplied hundreds of times on the island.

In the end, everything in this world will fail Israel. So will the US. Israel will be defended by God, and Him alone.
Does all of this rapid decline here make sense to me? Some, and more now than ever I think. More everyday.
I went to the Pro FLowers facebook page too. Wow, is this country impossibly polarly divided. Is polarly a word? Well, darn it, it should be.
Seriously. Half the country hates Rush and thinks free birth control should be had by all, and if you don’t think so, you hate women.
The other half thinks that the reproductive rights issue is a phony trumped up issue to get government control into your bedroom, loves Rush as a bearer of truth, and wants people to pay for their own social activities, including whatever makes sex good for them.
I fear that half the country thinks like a 4 year old: if you need money, Mommy, why don’t you just go to the bank?? They think that there is a jolly red and white clad man called Government, and he has all kinds of goodies for them in his sack.
They don’t understand that the money comes from their neighbors. If they don’t feel comfortable going next door, ringing the bell, and asking that guy who comes to the door to buy them a pack of birth control pills, then don’t ask the government for it.
deo vindice !
I don’t know, I don’t have satellite radio.
I don’t think this was a very wise business decision for these two radio stations. Rush’s audience is going nowhere in this very contrived incidident by the Dems and the Whitehouse. They will support him one hundred percent and they are now motivated to put the squeeze on all those media outlets and sponsors that have turned against them because they think he is vulnerable now (NOT!)
You’re right. It’s not wise and after hearing Rush this morning in his opening monologue, it appears that it is all contrived. Except for the ‘well known’ aholes/cowards, such as carbonite, the numbers are being ‘inflated’...flat out lies.
He also said this morning that they have 3 new sponsors and 2 of the ones that pulled are begging to come back...lol
Go Rush!
ROFLOL!!!
