Carbonite's statement was especially and curiously unctuous, its withdrawal of sponsorship coming as it did after Rush's apology. Here is Carbonite's CEO David Friend:

MoveOn.org, America Coming Together and Democracy for America, all three listed here as George Soros funded groups, the latter set up by Howard Dean. Texans for Truth also drew Mr. Friend's support. This group, according to Wikipedia, was set up by MoveOn.org spin-off Drive Democracy.org in 2004. Why? To… wait for it… challenge then-President Bush's service in the Texas National Guard. The precise same stunt for which CBS fired Dan Rather after documents were discovered to have been forged. The Bush-Cheney campaign said of Texans for Truth that it was "a smear group launching baseless attacks on behalf of John Kerry's campaign that will be rejected by the American people." They were. But that didn't quench Mr. Friend's affection for either the smear campaign or supporting leftist candidates such as Howard Dean, and John Kerry.
And get a load of this. Take a look right here at Ed "Laura Ingraham is a slut" Schultz's site for his radio show. Who is listed as a Schultz sponsor? That's right: Carbonite. Like Rush Limbaugh, Ed Schultz apologized. The difference? If Rush uses the word "slut" to illustrate the absurdity of the left-wing Sandra Fluke's views -- David Friend is outraged. But when Ed Schultz refers in hostile fashion out of the blue to conservative and Catholic Laura Ingraham as a "slut" -- hey, no big deal for Carbonite......

Rush has never made a professional mistake that I have heard on air... he broke his record by apologizing to a slut that called herself a slut by definition. I will NOT apologize!

I hope the people who were talking about Rush throwing us under the bus feel more than a little bit cheesy after reading this.
These liberals and the people on FR who don’t understand are about to get a real big surprise. Rush never says anything without thinking first, and he is a real smart guy.

According to Fluke’s written testimony before the House, she wasn’t specifically asking for $3,000 in contraception for herself.
I think all the government mandates on insurance are a big part of the problem but also do not care for the distortions about her testimony. That is what the left routinely does.
Schultz also apologized but apparently some apologies are accepted and some are “too little too late”
Shame on NEWT and Mitt and Boner and the rest of those GOP weasels for not calling a spade a spade on this “get-Rush” campaign

I agree that her arguments for free contraception for college age single swingers were anecdotal (BUT ABSURD) and not personal, because something about her sets off my gay-dar

Well, I certainly hope that Rush’s vetting of advertisers gets more stringent...
I have sent a personal note to each company the dropped Rush making them aware of my feelings and loss of and/or potential loss of business.
I never could understand all the conservative talking heads shilling for Legal Zoom. It is, at least in part, owned by that lawyer, Robert Whatsizface, who, along with the black lawyer, lied their soul to a cinder, defending and springing O.J. Simpson. The black lawyer has since gone on to meet his Maker; but Robert Whoozits is still around, making commercials for Legal Zoom. Is there ANYTHING these guys, Rush included WON’T do for money?

With the fine Backup & Restore provided with my Comcast service, I cancelled my Carbonite.....and now am elated that I did. I back up my files automatically to a small inexpensive USB hard drive, and flip the proverbial bird to Carbonite.
Same here, mine has 3 months to go and I alerted them yesterday to not consider my subscription continued, it will not be.

BTW, did the great compassionate obama ever call Rush to apologize after Wanda Sykes-dykes, at a President’s bash at Kennedy Center, wished Rush’s kidneys would fail?

I was troubled when I saw the apology. I'm curious now to see if Rush is going to turn this around. After all, he really IS good at this chess game he's got going with the Left. Should be interesting.
