Wallace promo on F&F — if Santorum wins Ohio, the field stays ‘muddled’; if Romney wins Ohio, he becomes unstoppable.
The real question of the day: Will Rush Survive?
It seems he opened a whole new can of worms by issuing an apology yesterday, as advertisers began pulling out of The Rush Limbaugh program.
When George Steffie brought up that ‘contraception’ question and belabored it over and over, many, including talkshow hosts, were wondering what the heck that was all about. Then we found out. It was an intentional trap set for the short-term future against the GoP. Ironically, the trap caught Limbaugh. The Dems/Lefties/MSM couldn’t be more thrilled at that unintended consequence.
So Noot’s on TV...how’d that happen?
Where’s Rush, don’t they need to demonize him for saying the wrong word?
Morning all, thanks for the thread AB.

Wallace brings up the Limbaugh fiasco to Santorum.
[duh!]
Wallace asks: “Do you really want to be campaigning on contraception in 2012?”
Santorum begins to answer, and Wallace interrupts with his motor boat impression, “But, but but...”
==
I fear this non-issue is designed to distract from real issues: economy, jobs, Obamacare, etc. And the candidates/talkshow hosts are falling for the distraction.
So far, Wallace has used the entire Santorum segment (abt 7 minutes) for this topic and social issues.
FNS
Wallace is being combative and making Santorum sound defensive on most topics this morning.
That makes for a not-so-good showing for Santorum.
Santorum this morning reminds me of the Santorum of the early debates.
Just watching Inside Washington, and Nina Totenberg (whom the great David Brudnoy called ‘the Temptress of Public Radio’) said the Republican candidates treat each other with savagery, the same way Republicans in Congress treat their opponents. Roger Simon was filling in for Charles Krauthammer and no one batted an eye. After all, everyone knows Republicans are savages.
MTP
Gregory asks Cantor about the Limbaugh comment.
[Rush has made himself the topic of the day.]
Gregory does criticize Romney for not coming out strongly against the Limbaugh comments.
[Code word for the moring: Rush is evil. EEEEEEEVVVVIL]
Gregory makes ‘contraception’ the issue.
[The deflection is in full force — keep the Republicans away from real issues — joblessness, economy, Obamacare — and cram a made-up issue down their throats. Sadly, it is working.]
MTP
Gregory editoralized a question to Cantor that the Republicans shouldn’t hit Obama over gas prices, because the real problem has been a lack of leadership from Congress — Republicans, and Dems to a lesser extent — for decades regarding drilling, etc.
[Gregory smiles while trying to provide cover for Obama on rising gas prices.]
FNS
Wallace says the panel, after the break, will discusss THE POLITICS OF BIRTH CONTROL.
[Dems needed an issue to deflect away from the poor job and economic numbers. They have managed to create one. George Stepphie set the trap in the January debate and the Republicans fell in, including Rush Limbaugh. It couldn’t have happened any better for the Dems if they had planned it. No wonder the Party of Stupid is expert at pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory. This race is theirs to lose and they are managing to do so.]
Morning AB, All .
Sang in church this morning. Choir director is back but suffering from new medication. He’s fine but in the thralls of adjustment.
As always, AB, thank you for doing this thread. I always enjoy being a part of the repartee.
Boy, last week was a doozy, huh? Got that fake woman testifying before congress, Rush apologizing to her .wants us to pay for her birth control pill.
It’s not like Rush to apologize like that. This is mostly because, as Rush so plainly says, and truthfully, he uses absurdity to illustrate absurdity. Calling Fluke a Slut, which he did not really do, was his way of being absurd.
He also said we should get to see the tapes of this woman for having to pay for her birth control. Of course that was also tongue in cheek. Liberals, being humorless, unhappy and angry people, don’t see through sarcasm and satire.
Way I figure, the Repubs asked Rush to issue that apology. It’s just not something he does is all, and I think there’s some reason, or force, behind it.
Here’s what I think. I think the pubs did some polling on the matter and I don’t think this big Dem issue of forcing health insurers to pay for birth control is resounding across the fruited plains.
And Fluke, as will be increasingly known in the coming weeks, is a setup. She’s a pawn of the administration and this whole silly argument was orchestrated by the Obama bunch.
I think the pubs want to move the issue of Fluke’s sex life off of the forefront and concentrate on the maneuvering to get birth control paid for by the taxpayers via Obamacare.
So once Rush apologizes there’s not much more to say so that’s why I think he did it.
Bearing in mind I’m right about as often as Dick Morris.
Looking forward to intelligent and insightful commentary as only can be found on Freerepubli
Thanks. Always look forward to this thread. Who the heck is Richard Blumenthal? I thought he was a Dick.
The Gov. Daniels push as the savior in a brokered convention continues.
Ugh!
You mentioned twitter and its use. Could you organize a thread on how it works and how to use it? It would be very helpful in this campaign season and would allow many of us to do something constructive from our computers.
JUst getting in from a 13 hour drive from Crestview Fla.
WTH is Wall Ass grilling Santorum on more social issues when we are in debt up to our asses and gas is going up like mad?
WHat an idiot1! If I were Santorum I would only deal with pertinent issues not social BS when the country is near financial death.
