Rush Limbaugh’s diatribes against Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown University law student who spoke out about contraception, continue to roil the political environment. And it may be nicking the bottom line for the conservative talk show personality who draws millions of listeners daily.
Republicans, already facing a potential problem with many female voters over a controversial issue, are scrambling to respond – distancing themselves from a powerful voice among many of the party faithful. House Speaker John Boehner and GOP presidential hopefuls Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney put out statements – although the tone seemed grudging.
US Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts, who faces what could be a tough re-election campaign against Democrat Elizabeth Warren, says Limbaugh should apologize for calling Ms. Fluke “a slut,” “a prostitute,” and one of his signature slurs “a feminazi.”
But Limbaugh, who’s made himself very wealthy with his bloviating conservative commentary and mocking wise cracks, shows no sign of backing off, recently targeting other women as well for his ridicule.
When House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi organized a meeting to hear Ms. Fluke’s testimony, Limbaugh referred to the former House Speaker as “Botox-filled.” When racecar driver Danica Patrick voiced her support of President Obama’s rule regarding contraception, Limbaugh said, “What would you expect from a woman driver?”
Whether or not it will make any difference to Limbaugh’s operation is unclear, but several advertisers on his syndicated radio show have pulled their ads and more are considering it.
Select Comfort, which sells Sleep Number mattresses, tweeted: "Recent comments by RUSH LIMBAUGH do not align w/our values, so we made decision to immediately suspend all advertising on that program."
Quicken Loans announced; “Due to continued inflammatory comments – along w/valuable feedback from clients & team members – QL has suspended ads on RUSH LIMBAUGH program."

Seems to me that Rush either believes he is on sound legal foundation or that he believes he can prove the woman to be a slut in a Civil Court...after discovery, of course.

IMO it became a kind of appalling dialectic -- with the Right attempting to escape the verbal assaults yielding 90 percent and the Left yielding at most 10 percent and the result is -- that the enemy within is close to putting an end to America the "shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere."
Let's get it over with before there is another country strong enough to take advantage of our turmoil.
I just hope that patriots already in position to handle the turmoil (military and LEO) do step up, take charge, and put an end to the enemies within with our cooperation. IMO.

If this putana sues Rush, his 20 million listeners will grow to 30 million or more.
And Rush will be able to charge MUCH more for advertising
(and he will have no trouble lining up eager potential advertisers).
Some of that $3,000 must have included the cost of booze and drugs, because I find it hard to believe that any sober man would want to sleep with this Fluke skank.
I’ll reserve judgement on exactly who has taken the bait. I strongly doubt that Rush jumped into this without identifying his enemy.
I am however, enjoying the spectacle of our spineless congress critters and GOP Candidates as they put their tails between their legs and urinate on themselves for the media. Now there’s some damage to the “Republican Brand”.

Years ago in a rural Southwestern Indiana town, my husband and I spoke with the manager of our local radio station and asked about bringing Rush Limbaugh to their lineup. At the time they had sports talk, music and local news. The people in our town are known for voting Democrat locally and Republican nationally.
We thought it was a long shot but they said yes! We had to pay the entire hourly amount to bring him to our local station. That was probably about 1990-91. It is still on the radio and has a lot of local advertisers. I no longer live there but I travel there for business. I am still grateful that I can listen to Rush when I am home.
I am so happy that you have the freedom to live as you please. It makes me even happier that you are so comfortable with your lifestyle that you blare it all over the country. I only have one rule to life. You are free to do anything you wish as long as you DON'T make me pay for it.

Didn’t she make herself a limited purpose public figure by testifying? She was also testifying about sex which means she can’t use that her sex life wasn’t discussed (it wasn’t directly). That means the bar is very very high. He’ll invoke New York Times vs. Sullilvan. Of course if the courts hold that New York Times vs Sullivan is no longer valid God help the media and the entertainment industrywhen all the conservatives who’ve been smeared go after not only the media but the actors, directors, writers etc of things like Game Change.
