Rush Limbaughs diatribes against Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown University law student who spoke out about contraception, continue to roil the political environment. And it may be nicking the bottom line for the conservative talk show personality who draws millions of listeners daily.
Republicans, already facing a potential problem with many female voters over a controversial issue, are scrambling to respond distancing themselves from a powerful voice among many of the party faithful. House Speaker John Boehner and GOP presidential hopefuls Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney put out statements although the tone seemed grudging.
US Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts, who faces what could be a tough re-election campaign against Democrat Elizabeth Warren, says Limbaugh should apologize for calling Ms. Fluke a slut, a prostitute, and one of his signature slurs a feminazi.
But Limbaugh, whos made himself very wealthy with his bloviating conservative commentary and mocking wise cracks, shows no sign of backing off, recently targeting other women as well for his ridicule.
When House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi organized a meeting to hear Ms. Flukes testimony, Limbaugh referred to the former House Speaker as Botox-filled. When racecar driver Danica Patrick voiced her support of President Obamas rule regarding contraception, Limbaugh said, What would you expect from a woman driver?
Whether or not it will make any difference to Limbaughs operation is unclear, but several advertisers on his syndicated radio show have pulled their ads and more are considering it.
Select Comfort, which sells Sleep Number mattresses, tweeted: "Recent comments by RUSH LIMBAUGH do not align w/our values, so we made decision to immediately suspend all advertising on that program."
Quicken Loans announced; Due to continued inflammatory comments along w/valuable feedback from clients & team members QL has suspended ads on RUSH LIMBAUGH program."

I see trouble for Rush.
He may be a winner with us over this issue but he is in trouble with his advertisers.
Select Comfort- gone
Quicke Loans - gone
Pro-Flowers - thinking on it
Carbonite - wants a direct meeting with him
I love Rush but he may have stepped in it. I expect he will admit he went too far.
“Id love to see it happen, since shes actually a 30 year old feminist activist.”

Actually, if I could SELECTIVELY subsidize the birth control costs of individuals, folks such as Ms. Fluke would be among those who would be included in the subsidy.
It’s a GOOD THING that Ms. Fluke is not reproducing herself and producing additional creatures such as herself to plague our children. She’s clearly well on her way to being a dried out old prune whose fertility & vitality will have passed her by before she knows it. It’s very fortunate that Progressives such as Fluke do not reproduce themselves and are consequently dying out. That’s the reason they are desperate for illegal immigrants to come in to compensate for Progressive die off.
I suspect that Ms. Fluke’s parents are quietly very disappointed in her. While I can’t find sympathy for Ms. Fluke because of her duplicity, I do feel sorry for her parents.
Try a Comfortaire mattress instead. Works exactly the same way.

Rush, et al. can use this self-important girl's tantrums to explode the Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) election year ploy and get back to the real issues.
Journalistic malpractice. She made herself a “public figure” and both the legal departments of EIB and the CSM know it.
On the facts, as has been widely noted here on FR and elsewhere, how can anybody claim to need to spend $3,000 on “contraceptives” when a month of birth control pills can currently be had for $20, even with no health insurance. Only if the very most expensive condoms are used, and used often. I believe this was Rush’s reasoning, but he wasn’t quite explicit.

Actually I’d be surprised at that. This, along with Ms. Fluke’s 15 minutes of fame, will be gone before long “like a fart in the wind”. Advertisers who have a correct understanding of this will let this pass. Those advertisers led by the less savvy may panic and make a decision in the short term that they will come to regret in the longer term.
Then again, maybe these “less savvy” (I’m intentionally trying to not call them stupid) executives will decide to spend their future advertising budgets sponsoring various “Occupy” events. Oh sure, that would help them recoup some of the sales they would lose from not advertising on the Limbaugh show -— NOT!
Fluke wants $100 a month in taxpayer money for her own birth control.
I’d say that makes her both a slut and a whore.
“She’s a MAN, baby!”
Call it what it is: Fluke is a willful godless fornicator.
Nah, I vote for 2A.
If we are indeed at the point where speaking the truth harms the Republican or Conservative brand then we are past the point of talking....
Since she lied about her identity - didn’t she lied to Congress or whatever? isn’t that illegal?
When Breibart’s Obama videos come out, this will go on the back burner as the Media falls all over themselves trying to defend him. I hope Rush hangs in there and waits for the drama to shift to the next target. It will happen, it always does.
Oh come on. She's arguing for a massive expansion of government -- more welfare for everybody. For those of us who want smaller and less intrusive government, reduced welfare, and containing the fiscal crisis, that is Topic #1. That is a fair game issue.
Furthermore, this is all a set-up feint by the Dems. They are ginning up a totally bogus issue to win the election. Catholics and others who believe in freedom of conscience as guaranteed by the First Amendment are outraged by the Democrat government war on religion. The Dems are currently distorting that issue into a bogus charge that "Republicans want to ban contraception." Fluke is in the vanguard of that bogus allegation.
BOTH of these topics are fair game and Rush has been dealing with them for far longer than the Fluke eruption. He did not "take the bait."
You may “lean right” but you sure run to the left when the pressure is on.
Rush has the truth on his side, he unlike you will stand up for what is right.
I also see some new companies making it big over this, the ones who replace the ungrateful wimps that are pulling out.
Did she testify as to her age??
My daughter purchased one as her husband has a really bad back and every time we visit and sleep on it, really didn't want to "mess" with their settings but didn't care for whatever setting they had.
I think that the company is giving so many days to try one out and just might give it a go as the very expensive one we have still leaves me uncomfortable in the morning.
She has the right to say what she said - Rush has the right to say what he said.
