FoxNews says four children wounded... 3 boys - 1 girl, suspect in custody...

I know we should all be concerned only about the kids, BUT FN also puts up headline - “FBI Swat Team surrounds school”... SO I ASK - How did this instantly become a Federal Matter? What happened to the County Sheriff, the local police department and the Ohio State Patrol? How did Federal law enforcement gain instant jurisdiction in one small school in one small Ohio town? This is NOT GOOD FOLKS.... not good. Even if it was a Terrorist (Islamic or otherwise) State and Local Law Enforcement should handle these problems and the FBI not be called in UNLESS some criteria is met that actually indicates a cross state border involvement of some kind...

They just had an official from Chardon explain: The county police have primary jurisdiction. When something like this happens...because there was a call that came in with the words "actively shooting, " all you mentioned immediately respond to the scene. Each has a particular duty. He specifically mentioned the involvement of the FBI, city police, county police...noting that the county police are in charge. So, the FBI is there as a matter of procedure, in this case, and I guess their responsibility is to do what they are now doing.

How frightening for everyone there. Actually, words are not enough to use to express the horror of this. Prayers for the ones who were shot, and for their families, and everyone.

Any number of ways, if you think like a fed bureaucrat......gun involved, school involved that receives fed funds, possible hate crime, any number of reasons to get in on the action, if your a fed that wants to try out your new toys...........

AGREED! Federal is constantly jumping in and controlling everything...I missed it...good catch.
Only thing I can think of that they would use to justify their involvement would be the Gun-Free School Zones Act (GFSZA)...but heck most serious crimes are federal and they aren’t involved in those?
